How to Contact Support

There are many ways to get in touch with Will Hill’s support. For example, you can use:

They have live chat, too – apparently 24/7. In my experience, live chat is the fastest and most effective way to get your questions answered and problems solved. So, I suggest you start there first.

A List of William Hill’s Evergreen Promotions

The following list is of William Hill’s evergreen promotions for each section of their website. However, to keep things simple, we’ve combined all their casino-related deals and put them under the same (casino) heading.

Important:

William Hill has a lot of different offers. Many of them are available for a limited time. The offers we listed below – to the best of our knowledge – are their long-term offers. For everything else, we recommend bookmarking their promotions page and to sign-up to any newsletters they may have. One other thing: Their ‘new player’ deposit bonuses are for players ‘new’ to that section (as we understand them). This means that, as long as you haven’t played in a section yet, you should be able to participate in that section’s ‘new player’ offer.

Sports Promotions

Bet £10, Get £20 Free

Place your first bet of £10 or more and William Hill will give you 2 £10 bets free. Odds on your selection(s) need to be greater than 1/2.

Acca Five Insurance

Choose 5 or more selections in an accumulator, and if one of your selections loses, they’ll refund your stake as a free bet. Your selection needs to be priced at 1/5 or higher. Live bets don’t qualify.

Get 5 Free Every Week

Spend £20 or more on footy accumulators with four or more selections and you’ll get a free £5 bet.

Enhanced Odds

Each day William Hill releases a bunch of markets at an enhanced price on the most popular sports and events. Just look for the Enhanced Odds logo throughout the site to spot their best deals.

Cash in Your Bet

If you ever feel as if the game (and your bet) is making a turn for the worst, you can cash in your bet.

Here’s how you do it:

Go to your open bets and you’ll see the option and what your cash in value is. Then click the button to end your bet.

This is available on single and multiple football, horse racing, baseball, basketball, boxing, cricket, darts, golf, snooker, rugby union and tennis bets – including live (in-play) bets.

Best Odds on Greyhounds and Horses

If you take their Early or Board Price, William Hill will pay you out at the SP if it’s bigger than the price you took. For example, if you took the early price at 4/1 and the SP returns at 5/1, you’ll get the bigger price of 5/1. However, if the SP returns at 3/1, you’ll still get paid at 4/1.

100 Club Points Bonus

You’ll also receive 100 Club points. You can use these to buy into their Club Bankroll Builder events, which guarantees more than €2,500 every month.

Players Club

William Hill offers a robust VIP program. When you play their real money games, you’ll earn two types of points:

  • WHPoints (WHPs)
  • Club Points (CPs)

WHPs are generated when you play real money cash games and tournaments. You receive 10 WHPs for every €1.00 you pay in rake (cash or tourney). These are used to determine your club status, and for cashing out any bonus money you have.

CPs are generated when you play real money games, too, but they accumulate based on your Club Status (the higher up you go, the higher your multiplier, thus the faster you earn CPs). You use these to buy into points tournaments.

The Club itself has 7 different statuses – ClubStatus1 through ClubStatus7. Each one has a different amount of points required to achieve that status, with ClubStatus7 requiring the most (12,000) WHPs. At the very top you can receive a 2x multiplier on CPs.

Starting with ClubStatus2, you’ll be eligible for daily and monthly freerolls. These award SNG Ladder tickets. The higher your status, the more freerolls you can enter.

Another benefit is you can receive up to €5 cash every week. You’ll receive €.50 in cash for every 50 WHPs you earn every week of the month.

Last is their shop where you can convert your points to cash. At the low end, you can turn in 1,000 CPs for €10 cash. On the high end, you can turn in 187,500 CPs for €2,500 cash. You can also turn your points into tournament tickets. On the low end, you can turn in 200 CPs for €2. On the high end, you can turn in 4,000 CPs for €50.

Betting at Their Sportsbook

I approached this review (and the following sections) similar to how a person new to William Hill might. You browse their website and see what they have to offer.

Each section of their website is like a home page. There’s a lot going on, and you’ll have to dig deeper to see everything they have to offer and how it all works.

This applies to their sportsbook, if not more so than any other section on their website. Thankfully, their navigation is easy to use – it’s intuitive. And when you hover over it, the first thing you’ll realize is they have LOTS of markets to bet on.

The markets William Hill covers includes:

  • American Football
  • Athletics
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Bowls
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • esports
  • Football
  • GAA Football
  • GAA Hurling
  • Golf
  • Greyhounds
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Ice Hockey
  • Motor Racing
  • Motorbike Racing
  • Pool
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • UFC
  • Volleyball

But that’s not all – William Hill covers special (sporadic) events, too. For example, every 2-4 years you can bet on the Olympics or the US Election.

William Hill Adds esports Betting

One sport they’ve added since I last reviewed them is esports. This is a rapidly growing sport and industry with LOTS of money to be made. It’s no surprise to see a gambling behemoth like William Hill get involved.

When you go to their esports section, you’ll have 2 choices for how to view matches. You can either choose from the list of competitions under the All esports tab, which when I checked them out included:

  • League of Legends – EU LCS Summer Split
  • League of Legends – LPL Summer Season
  • League of Legends – LCK Summer Split
  • League of Legends – LMS Summer Split
  • League of Legends – LSPL Summer Split
  • Counter Strike
  • CS:GO – ECS Finals
  • Dota 2
  • StarCraft – SSL Classic
  • StarCraft – VSL League
  • Halo Championship Series

Or, you can view everything from the Matches tab.

One of the things you can do from the Matches tab, that you can’t from the All esports tab, is sort all the matches by time or competition. Other than that, both paths lead to the same place – where you can choose which match/odds you want to bet on for a specific game/tournament.

William Hill covers a fair amount of ground, at least in terms of the matches, leagues and tournaments you can bet on. However, when I checked them out, the only market you could bet on is ‘match betting.’ They didn’t offer any game-specific or prop bets like Bet365 and Betway do.

William Hill doesn’t have live esports betting, either, nor do they stream matches. At least I didn’t see any scheduled for the near future.

Overall, William Hill offers an average to slightly above average esports betting selection. I’d like to see more markets added at a bare minimum. They’d be on par with Bet365 at that point. If they could offer esports promotions and/or live betting, then they could be on par or even slightly better than Betway.

But for now, they’re average.

Live Betting & Betting Limits

They also offer live betting, which is front and center on their main sportsbook page. When I checked it out they had 48 options, 33 of which were football. The rest was divided up amongst snooker, tennis and basketball matches. But this, of course, will vary.

Betting limits range from $1 to as much as $10,000. I’ve seen reviews that say you can bet as high as $25,000, but this was from an Australian-focused website. So, your mileage (and betting limits) may vary depending on where you’re betting from.

Betting Tools & Resources

William Hill offers many different betting features – tools and resources you can use to not only make more winning bets, but to possibly have more fun while doing it.

Here are some of the tools and resources they offer:

  • In-Play Schedule
  • WHTV Live Streaming
  • Radio/Podcasts
  • Tip Advisor
  • Promotions
  • Offer Club
  • Mobile App

I’ll start with their live stream. While many sportsbooks require that you have money in your account, or that you make a bet before you can watch a live stream, William Hill lets you watch them for free. The exception are their horse races – you do need to have £1 (or more) in your account to watch them.

Live streams are usually available for major sports, which include basketball, football (soccer), cricket and tennis.

The tip advisor feature was also interesting. You can follow different bettors or ‘tipsters’ to see what kinds of bets they make (so you can copy them). What I liked about this feature is the transparency. Tipsters get little trophy badges for winning streaks. So, you can browse this section and quickly see who makes money and who doesn’t.

The podcast looked interesting, too. They have several stations.

One station I (accidently) opened is for live betting. I didn’t stick around for it, but I imagine they talk about sporting events and share the odd tip or three.

If you go to their podcast main page, you can see all the different podcasts William Hill produces and all the sports they cover (which is a TON). There’s also an archive, which might be helpful to get older opinions, stats or whatever you think may be useful (or entertaining).

Pro Tip!

Their podcast player sits at the top of your browser page. Once you open one it stays there until you remove it (by clicking the ‘X’ next to the play/pause button). This is sort of neat because it’ll continue playing as you go to different sections of the website.

Last, I looked at their mobile app. Will Hill is one of the few sportsbooks to have native apps for Apple and Android users. It’s a bit more of a pain than simply using their site from your browser. But I’m guessing it’s because of all the different betting options and features they have. Other reviews seem to like their app, though, which – at the end of the day – is all that matters.

Overall, I thought William Hill’s sportsbook was real simple to use – even for first-timers. Placing a bet couldn’t be easier, either. Find the market you want to bet, click it and it’ll be added to your bet slip (in your sidebar) where you can place and submit your wager.

Other reviewers have given their sportsbook a B+. That’s from a pro bettor, someone who knows what they’re talking about. That rating might hold true amongst other pros, but I think you could rate it higher for a general (non-professional) audience.

A Look at William Hill’s Many Casinos

One thing I noticed while reviewing William Hill is all the casino-related sections they have. I didn’t think it’d make sense to review each section and spell it all out here. Otherwise you’d be here for days.

What I decided to do instead is a ‘first impression’ of each section. I’ll give you my initial thoughts about each section, as well an idea of the games you can expect to find.

Enough chit-chat – let’s get right into it.

Pro Tip!

One thing I realized after I reviewed their casinos (and mention again later on) is how much overlap there is between each section – more so in the casino, live dealer casino and games section. If you stick to these sections, you’ll have access to probably 90% or more of what William Hill Casino offers.

Vegas Casino

The first thing I noticed is this section isn’t mobile responsive, which I found sort of frustrating. I was trying to share my screen between my notepad and their games, which is hard to do when their casino doesn’t shrink to fit your window.

It’s even more disappointing when you find that they have 90+ games in this section alone. That’s a lot of games you can’t play from your phone or tablet.

On the bright side, they have several interesting games to play. Games that might be worth waiting for (until you can get to a laptop). The titles that caught my eye were:

  • Slotris – Likely a play on the game, Tetris.
  • Rubik’s Slot
  • Merlin’s Magic Respins

Other than their Rubik’s Slot, which I’ve seen once or twice in Vegas, nothing about this section screams “VEGAS” to me, though. I don’t see how it’s any different than most online casinos I’ve been to.

Another thing I found confusing is how they don’t list all their games under the ‘All Games’ tab. They list their slots, but omit their table games – which you can find under the ‘Casino Games’ tab. It’s there you’ll find everything else a casino typically offers.

For example, you can play:

  • 3-Card Brag
  • Mayfair Blackjack VIP
  • Quick Bet Keno
  • Live Baccarat
  • Heads Up Poker

They also have their Vegas Live Casino tab. Here you’ll find Vegas Blackjack, Live Baccarat, Vegas Ultimate Texas Holdem and Vegas Live Roulette.

Overall, I found lots of fun games to play, but William Hill could do a better job of organizing everything. And, other than the colorful ‘Vegas’ logo, I don’t see anything that makes this section more Vegas-like than the others I reviewed.

On the bright side, they have just as many games in this section alone than any other online casino. Maybe more – and we’re only just getting started.

Macau Casino

Right off the bat this section screams “ASIA,” which is the theme I think William Hill is going for. And, good news, this section IS mobile responsive.

It’s much smaller than the Vegas casino, though. If you use their A-Z tab, you can see all of their 35 slot titles. Most of these use an obvious Asian theme – lots of dragons, panda bears and koi fish.

They offer 3 table games, too – all of which are live dealer. Those are live roulette, blackjack and baccarat squeeze. It looks like all 3 games are dealt by Asian dealers.

Live Casino

In this section, you’ll find all of their live dealer games – even the ones offered in the Macau and Vegas sections. So, if live dealer games are your thing, I’d just come here.

Here’s a list of the live dealer games you can play:

  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Baccarat
  • Poker
  • Mayfair Roulette
  • Mayfair Blackjack
  • Mayfair Baccarat
  • Mayfair TCP
  • Vegas Roulette
  • Vegas Blackjack
  • Vegas Ultimate Texas Holdem
  • Vegas VIP Blackjack
  • Macau Roulette
  • Macau Squeeze Baccarat
  • Macau Blackjack
  • Macau VIP Blackjack

One thing I liked seeing is the variety of dealer backgrounds or ethnicities. I saw both Asian and European, as well as both women and men dealers.

One thing I didn’t see, though – which was surprising given all the software companies William Hill works with – are the themed live dealer games, such as the Playboy Bunny dealer games.

Overall, I was happy to see all the variety, between the games and variations. There were several live dealer games you won’t find at many other online casinos.

Pro Tip!

You’ll notice there are several duplicate games, such as blackjack or roulette. Other than the different dealer, there may be different stakes and/or rules, too. So, we recommend you check both out first (if they matter to you) before you sit down to play.

Casino

This is the section I’d consider to be their ‘main’ casino. You’ll find most, if not all of their games here. You’ll have the largest variety of games here, too.

At the top of this casino William Hill has a few tabs I thought were helpful. They split up the casino into the following categories:

  • Heroes
  • New
  • Table
  • Jackpots
  • Slots
  • Live dealer

These tabs will help you drill down to the games you want to play.

I started with the Heroes tab. These are the types of slots I’d spend the most time playing. Some of the titles I found include:

  • Batman & The Joker Jewels
  • Marvel Roulette
  • Fantastic Four
  • Spider-Man
  • Age of the Gods
  • Iron Man 2
  • Incredible Hulk w/progressive jackpot
  • X-Men
  • Thor
  • Blade
  • Captain America
  • Daredevil

This only scrapes the surface, too. There are many more superhero themed games than these.

Next I checked out their main slots page. I counted more than 200 slot machines, which included titles such as:

  • Santa surprise
  • Ace Ventura Pet Detective
  • Rocky
  • Pink panther
  • Bounty of the Beanstalk
  • Sherlock Mystery
  • The Flintstones
  • Halloween Fortunes
  • Space Invaders
  • Jekyll & Hyde

I thought there was a good mix between licensed titles, and the regular titles casinos have that revolve around common casino themes, fairytales and popular stories.

As far as table games, you’ll have more than 80 different games to play. And not just normal table games, either, but everything that doesn’t fit under the slots tab. That includes table games, video poker, keno, and many others.

Some of the titles I found include:

  • Jacks or Better (50-line) video poker
  • 10s or Better
  • Deuces Wild
  • Mega Jacks
  • All American video poker
  • Pick’em Poker
  • Hold’em Showdown
  • Aces and Faces
  • Rocky scratch cards
  • Keno
  • Pinball roulette
  • Cash Blox
  • Rock Paper Scissors
  • Bonus Bowling

Ultimately, William Hill has a good selection of casino games. I also liked how you could click on their games and get a popup that describes the game in more detail.

They have a native app, too, for both Apple and Android users. This is good news since only a couple of their casino sections are mobile-responsive.

Casino Final Thoughts

They have lots of games. Which is no surprise considering they work with the following software companies:

  • Gamesys
  • Microgaming
  • NetEnt
  • WGS Technology (Vegas Technology)
  • Ash Gaming
  • Cryptologic (WagerLogic)
  • Evolution Gaming
  • Bally
  • IGT (WagerWorks)
  • WMS (Williams Interactive)
  • Blueprint Gaming
  • Genesis Gaming
  • Novomatic
  • Quickspin
  • Rabcat
  • William Hill
  • Games Warehouse
  • Inspired

This explains why they have such a large and diverse selection of games – including all the licensed titles and games I’ve also played in Las Vegas.

The biggest complaint I have is about how disorganized their casinos are. I think it’d be much better if they took a page out of most other casino’s books, and simply placed all their games into one section with tabs (live, table, slots, progressives, etc.) you could use to quickly drill down to the games you want to play.

I think that minor change would make a major difference.

Overall, though, if I were to join an online casino based on games alone, it’d be this one. It’s hard to go wrong with all William Hill has to play.

And we’re still not done yet, either. You still have their bingo hall and games section, which we’ll cover next.

Up for a Game of Bingo?

It’s not much of a surprise, given everything else William Hill offers gambling-wise, but they have an online bingo hall, too. Under their bingo tab, you’ll find their bingo rooms, as well as the options to play slots, scratch and arcade games, and more.

Starting with their bingo games, they have 7 different rooms:

  • Specials
  • 90-ball
  • 80-ball
  • 75-ball
  • 75-ball pattern
  • Multi-variant
  • Bingo jackpots

Under each tab (room) you’ll find their different bingo games, along with details about how much each ticket costs (most start around £1), the prize, number of players, the type of bingo game it is, and more. Some sections have more games than others – like the 90-ball room – which clearly has more games than the 80 and 75-ball bingo rooms combined.

Their bingo section offers the same stuff you’ll find at other bingo halls – lots of games, deals and chat rooms.

Then there’s the ‘other games’ section. Here you’ll find tabs (in the sidebar) that will take you to play:

  • Slots
  • Arcade games
  • Jackpot scratch cards
  • Scratch cards
  • Number games
  • Jackpot slots
  • Games jackpots

I briefly checked it out, and noticed lots of familiar titles. So, if you’ve already played in William Hill’s casino, chances are you’ll be familiar with the games they have here.

Games & Scratch Cards

Honestly, I wasn’t too keen on checking this section out. I didn’t expect to find much, let alone find any games I’d be interested in playing.

Well, I was wrong on both accounts.

For one thing, they have LOTS of unique games. I counted more than 350 between their arcade games and scratch tickets.

Then I saw all their licensed games. If you’re familiar with pop culture, live Las Vegas games, William Hill’s casino, or if you’ve read the casino review above, you’ll recognize many of their games.

For example:

  • Wonky Wabbits
  • Zeus
  • Wheel of Fortune
  • Toy Factory
  • Transformers
  • Tomb Raider
  • Top Cat
  • Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers
  • Wizard of Oz
  • T2 (Terminator 2)
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Robin Hood
  • Ooh Aah Dracula
  • Monopoly Roulette Tycoon
  • Mega Moolah – An online slot that has paid out millions in dollars in winnings.
  • KISS
  • Jurassic Park – I’ve played this in Las Vegas. It’s a lot of fun.
  • Kitty Glitter – Another title I’ve seen, but not played, in Las Vegas
  • Hellboy
  • Ghostbusters
  • Game of Thrones

And that’s only a small fraction of all the games they have in this section. It’s worth checking out in addition to their main casino. But keep in mind there’s some overlap between the two sections.

And, like I’ve mentioned already, this section could use some organization – tabs such as slots, instant win, arcade and other. It’d help navigate their site.

Overall, though, just don’t make the same mistake I did – and assume there’s nothing worth playing here …because there is.

Soft, Yet Average Poker Action

Of all their main sections – the sportsbook, casino and poker – William Hill’s poker room is their weakest link.

They’re on the iPoker Network, which according to Poker Scout, means they’re 7th in international traffic and 8th overall. They had 4,700 players (2,000 cash players) on their site the last time I checked them out.

This is average, considering only a few sites have more than they do – which includes Party Poker and 888. But none of them comes close to PokerStars, who had 110,000+ players online the last time we checked.

The point – William Hill is an okay choice for poker, but more so if you play part time – if you play for fun. But if you want lots of games, stakes and around the clock action, you’re better off at PokerStars.

With that in mind, let’s go over what William Hill does have to offer.

The games you can play include:

  • Texas Holdem
  • Six Plus Holdem
  • 7-Card Stud
  • Omaha

For cash games, the blinds start at 0.01/0.02 and peak at £100 / £200 blinds. Though other players say you won’t find much, if any action above €5/€10. Most of the action is between the micros and the €2/€4 level.

They also have their Speed Poker, which is their fast-fold poker variation. Here you’re pooled with hundreds, even thousands of other players. Once you’re dealt a hand, you can fold it immediately. If you do, Will Hill will seat you at a new table, with different players and a new hand to play.

It’s something you got to play to fully understand and appreciate. Just know you’ll be able to play 2-3x more hands than your standard 6-max or 9-handed ring game – about 200-300 hands per hour.

And between you and me, that sort of action usually attracts players who aren’t as good as they think they are. Which means more money for you, if you have your poker fundamentals down pat.

Tournaments

What caught my eye at William Hill are their guaranteed tournaments. They guarantee more than €3 million every month.

Unfortunately, when I checked out their tournament schedule – which shows the next 5-10 upcoming tournaments – all they had listed were weaker tourneys with small buy-ins and guarantees.

Here’s what was coming up next:

  • €5 satellite – 3 tickets GTD
  • €250 GTD
  • €1500 frenzy
  • €20 sat – 2 tickets GTD
  • €100 GTD

That said, if you’re on a budget and want to build your bankroll, these are the tournaments to play. The buy-ins for each one ranged from .50 to €10. Between the buy-ins and nominal guaranteed prize pools, you’re surely going to be up against a fishier pool of players.

On the other end of the spectrum, they have their Big Sunday tournament which guarantees €50,000. They have a weekly €100,000 GTD, too – both of which you can satellite into.

I found plenty of tournament variants, too, which includes rebuys, turbos, freezeouts, satellites, guarantees and more. So, there’s something for everyone.

This extends to SNG players, as well.

For their SNGs, you can choose from 4, 6 and 9-handed 1 table games. The variations you can play include both non-turbo and turbo blinds, as well as Double Up and Jackpot. Buy-ins start at 10c and peak at €1,000. But experts say you won’t find anything that runs consistently above the €200 level. This isn’t surprising, though, given their Poker Scout stats.

If you’re looking for value, regular players say their Double Up and Jackpot SNGs are soft. And, if it were me, I’d go for the Jackpot SNGs.

What’s fun about these is there’s a progressive jackpot that’s built with a portion of every buy-in. To win one of these jackpots, you need to win so many games in row. It all depends on the type of Jackpot SNG you play, but the starting jackpots range from €2,000 to €25,000.

Even if you don’t win one, though – which will be tough, no matter how good you are – there’s a lot of value in playing these because of the fishy type of player these games attract.

And if not the single table SNGs, I’d play the MTT SNG version – the Dirty Dozen Jackpot SNG. Or, the 18-man SNGs, which were my bread and butter back when PokerStars accepted US players.

The bottom line, most of the action at William Hill is soft. If you got the fundamentals, you can turn a profit here. That might be the only thing that balances out their average traffic levels.

Poker Software & Tools

There were a couple other things that caught my eye at William Hill.

One thing I liked is their ‘poker school,’ where they cover poker basics. It includes a poker glossary, an explanation of how to play poker, tips for tournament and heads-up poker, and an outs and odds guide.

Not only that, but they have anonymous and beginner’s tables. At an anonymous table, you’re identified with a number instead of a screen name, so other players can’t tag or target you, or take notes for future use. And beginner’s tables are open to new accounts for the first 90 days.

It’s great to see a poker site try to cater to all kinds of players. Not just pros, and not just recreational players, but both.

Software

William Hill’s software comes from Playtech, which they have a stake in. They have a download for Windows, and an instant play option for everyone else.

As far as features, they cover the normal stuff – resizable tables, notes, full screen and search options – as well as extras, such as hand histories, a hand-replayer and poker coach tool (for odds/tips/advice).

I think their software looks pretty good. Nothing mind blowing, but it’s definitely not 2nd or 3rd tier, either.

Conclusion

Overall, I’m impressed with William Hill. They’re a solid gambling site, and you can’t go wrong with a company who’s been around for decades. They’re publicly traded, too, on top of being licensed and regulated, which only adds to the safety factor.

There weren’t any big issues or complaints I could find, either.

My biggest complaint is how cluttered and disorganized their website is – especially their casino, which I think they could be improved by listing everything under one ‘casino’ heading (instead of 4 or 5). Then they could add some tabs you could use as filters to quickly find the games you’re after.

But that’s about it.

The bottom line – if you’re in the market for a sportsbook, casino, bingo or poker room – much less a combination of the those four, then I recommend you check William Hill out.

Few brands are as well-known as this one when it comes to gambling. William Hill started out in 1934 as a small, illegal operation behind closed doors. The company was originally designed to offer a postal and telephone betting service. However, at this time gambling was neither regulated or legal. Since then, William Hill has grown to become Britain’s favourite bookmaker and is established internationally. It now combines its land-based sports shops with an extremely successful online branch that was launched in 1998.

Full T&Cs Apply. Opt in required. Available 1x per customer. First deposit only. Minimum £10 deposit. Maximum £300 bonus. 40x wagering. Bonus expires 7 days from issue. New customers to casino page only.

William Hill uses only the best technology in all areas of its online gambling catalogue. Come and play on this casino and you can enjoy all the different areas of the site such as casino, poker, sportsbook, bingo, scratch cards and more. It offers games mainly from Playtech, although there are also games from other exciting providers such Microgaming, IGT, NetEnt and NextGen plus another 29 developers. There are so many young and new casinos springing up will all different offerings, but new isn’t necessarily better, and with an established online casino you get added security. In this William Hill review we will see how they compare to the new kids on the block.

Overview of Our Experiences

William Hill brands itself as Britain’s favourite bookmaker, but they also have a pretty decent online casino to boot. The casino is powered mostly by Playtech software but has over 30 other providers. In total you are given the choice of over 250 games to play. It also has its own subsidiary game provider, Ash Gaming, which provides them with very decent games. It has an eclectic selection of games for all, including Gladiator, Age of Gods and Jekyll and Hyde. As well as this, you can enjoy table games like blackjack, roulette, craps and Sic-Bo. It has a one-of-a-kind live casino offering with the help of Evolution Gaming who ensure a top class and very real experience.

William Hill, as you’d expect, has a great customer support service. There are many ways to reach them, as they are open 24 hours a day. What’s more, the service is offered in many different languages. William Hill offers not just casino, but also sports betting, poker, bingo and lotto amongst other services, so there really is something for everyone to enjoy. As an established casino, it is licensed to ensure that it is fully compliant. The UK Gambling Commission, along with Gibraltar Gaming Commission, make sure your play is completely safe and legal.

William Hill: Scam or Not?

As a sports betting establishment, William Hill has been around for years. However, the online casino is also well established and has been held to the highest standards by the strictest rules. It is safe to say that this is not a William Hill scam site. To ensure its complete complicity in the countries it trades in, it is licensed in the UK and Gibraltar. Not only this, but being linked to gaming providers such as Playtech and NetEnt indicates how trustworthy it is. William Hill ensures complete security by using state-of-the-art 128-bit SSL encryption technology so you can be sure that all your personal data is safe from the hands of hackers.

As you may expect from such a big name, its games and RNG is tested for randomness by 3rd parties to ensure fairness. On top of this, William Hill is TST certified. Yet another sign that it is trustworthy are the banking methods provided, all of which are deemed to be recognised and trustworthy. You are able to deposit and withdraw your funds using popular methods from all over the world. William Hill is also a PayPal casino which is always a good sign. This is a casino that ticks all the license and security boxes to prove that this is definitely no William Hill Scam.

Overview About the Offers from William Hill

Because this is a gambling establishment that has been around for so long, it has so much to offer that it’s almost too much. It has the most classic and popular slots around, such as Age of Gods and Irish Luck, as well as branded games such as Robocop. Then there’s the wide variety of table games for all different types of players – from classic games like roulette and blackjack, to the ever popular baccarat and Red Dog.

If you’re after the win of your life, then have a go at the top jackpot slots such as the dreamy Beach Life and Jackpot Giant. Every single game this casino offers will give you a great experience with amazing graphics and some top bonus features.

Online Casino

William Hill as a casino has a lot to offer. It has over 390 slots powered by Playtech predominantly, but as well as this, there are offerings from other great providers such as its own subsidiary Ash Gaming, NextGen, IGT and NetEnt, plus another 28 developers. These include the Age of Gods series of games as well as Monty Python’s Life of Brian, The Mummy and the exciting Top Gun. Amongst these games there are a whopping 63 jackpot games offering you the chance to win progressive jackpots into the millions. Go for that life changer with Monty Python’s Spamalot or the tasty Funky Fruits.

The William Hill live casino is powered primarily by Evolution Gaming and offers you an amazing and authentic experience through the 13 roulette games, such as Vegas Speed Roulette, Mayfair Roulette and Immersive Roulette. You could also play on one of the 10 blackjack like Vegas VIP Blackjack or Macau Blackjack. Further to this you can choose to play on one of the six baccarat tables, or spend your time on the five poker tables. William Hill certainly knows how to provide one of the top rate live casinos in the country. It has the most exciting titles available and a premium gambling venue. It also supports some of the highest betting limits in the industry. It is great whether you are a casual player or high roller. There’s something just right for you.

Sports Betting

William Hill sports betting started way back in 1934 when it opened its doors as an illegal betting house. It has definitely changed since then and is thankfully now licensed and all above board. It is now one of the biggest land-based sports betting companies in the UK, despite a few high-profile losses, and a very successful online branch. There will be high expectations when it comes to this site and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. With over 350 sports and activities to place your bets on there is something for everyone. It offers all of the favourites such as football and horse racing, but you could also have a flutter on GAA hurling if you felt the need. The number of markets it offers for each of its sports is pretty impressive. It covers approximately 60,000 football games each year, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It offers bets not just for results, but also goal scorer, handicap, specials, over/under and much more.

This is a sportsbook that offers its players lots of promotions and markets. There is a ‘Cash in My Bet’ option available on a number of markets which means you can cash in your bet for a fixed amount while the event is still in play. The odds, in comparison to other providers, are pretty decent. It offers great competitive odds across a range of sports, including not just UK sports, but also North American sports. It also has fantastic in-play betting, offering a wide varieties of markets for this function. It is also simple to use and easy to find. The interface itself is pretty decent. It sometimes feels a little cluttered and busy because of the amount it has to offer, but it’s pretty easy to navigate and relatively user friendly.

Poker

William Hill is a member of the iPoker network and belongs to the prestigious iPoker 2 network platform. This means that its lower limit tables are shared only with well-established companies that include other major betting shops. This makes sure that the quality of the game is always high. Its iPoker 2 network peaks at over 5,000 players and offers an average 2,500 players. It also offers Sit n Gos of under £10 to players which isn’t available to many other players on different networks.

There are insanely low buy-ins, which makes it great for any casual player out there when you play No Limit Texas and Fixed Limit Texas Hold ‘em. However, if you’re a high roller then you’re catered for too with nosebleed games that run as high as a £600 bet fixed limit. There are also thousands of pounds available to be won every week in poker tournaments, with some offering up to a £150,000 prize pool. As well as this, there is a regular tournament series called iPOPS with massive cumulative prize pools. It offers top promotions as well as VIP offers, so whether you’re just dipping your toe in, or a well-established poker pro, there’s something there for you.

Bingo

William Hill might not be known for its bingo product, but that doesn’t mean it is no good. In fact, it’s pretty great. It offers masses of games for all players with great prizes and jackpots. You can try out both 90-ball bingo games and 75-ball bingo games with top quality graphics and great sound effects so you can enjoy a fantastic bingo experience.

William Hill Bingo offers 18 unique games to those who want to try out the best. There are lots of variants, with the ever popular 90-ball bingo but also with 75-ball bingo and 80-ball bingo available. You can also decide whether you want to play big or play small as there is a stake to suit all. As well as this, there are generous promotions and top jackpots. Like the casino offering, William Hill uses Playtech software which gives a seamless and enjoyable player experience. So if you want to enjoy a top bingo time, playing popular games such as the new Deal or No Deal Bingo or Bingo Lynx, then this bingo site is for you.

Lotto

As well as the bingo, you can bet on lotteries. This gives you fixed-odds betting options on the world’s best lotteries. Effectively, by playing at William Hill, you are betting on the outcome of the lottery. For example, if you want to bet on three numbers, William Hill Lotto would enable you to do so with some decent odds. It doesn’t offer a great deal of lottos each week compared to some others, but you can take your pick from Irish Lotto, 49’s and the New York Lotto. Like other areas of the William Hill site, it is a great offering that appeals to players of all types.

William Hill Bonus: Check Out the Offer

So how does the age-old platform fare compared to other casino bonuses out there? Well, the William Hill bonus is a pretty decent offering with a solid 100% bonus up to £300. But are the terms and conditions as solid?

Deposit Bonus: 100% up to £300
Bonus Condition: 30 times wagering requirement
Validity: All countries that you can register
Other promotions: None

The terms are actually pretty standard – better than some but not as good as others. The wagering requirement is 30-times, which is similar to many others out there. You also have only 7 days to use it and fulfil the wagering requirements before you lose both the bonus and any winnings. If you try to withdraw your bonus before the terms are met, then you will lose it all. Also there are different weightings towards wagering requirements. Slots and scratch cards contribute 100% towards your wagering requirement, however, table games and poker contribute between 0% – 25% so be sure to check them carefully. Although the terms are pretty standard, make sure you read them through carefully so you know exactly what to expect.

Live casino offers a different welcome bonus, with 100% up to £100 on offer. There is a 50-times wagering requirement attached to this, but the top games such as Live Roulette and Live Blackjack count 100% towards it. However, only certain countries and currencies are available. Sportsbook have a new player offer where you bet £10 and get £30 free bets. However, there are many terms attached to this deal which need to be looked at in great detail as many types of bets aren’t eligible. The details are very specific on exactly what you can and can’t do with it.

The bingo welcome offer is 400% up to £40. This is split into £30 bingo bonus and £10 slot bonus. There is a 2-times wagering requirement attached to the bingo bonus and a 20-times wagering requirement attached to the slot bonus, which is pretty standard to most bingo offers. The poker welcome bonus is decent, with £10 awarded instantly, followed by a £100 bonus. Again, this bonus comes with terms and conditions that need to be looked at carefully. William Hill definitely offers decent welcome bonuses when you compare it to other casino bonuses. You can be sure you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck no matter what area you play on.

Deposits and Payouts at the Casino

Because it is an international casino, William Hill caters for this with amount of banking options it has. It has methods to suit everyone from all around the globe. It is also a PayPal casino so you know your money is in safe hands. There are the usual options of most debit cards. You can also use eWallets such as Neteller, Skrill and PayPal; you can use PaySafeCard as a prepaid option if you wish. This amazing online casino even accepts some rarely used depositing methods such as a Neosurf payments or mobile billing. As well as this you can opt for a bank transfer, use Western Union or even William Hill Cash Direct – these are vouchers that can be purchased in William Hill shops which can then be used to fund your online account.

Payment options at William Hill Casino

Deposit options: Visa electron, Visa debit, Maestro, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Webmoney, Fast Bank Transfer, Trustly, Trustpay, UseMyServices, paysafecard, Astropay, Bank transfer, Western Union
Minimum deposit: £5
Fees: None
Accepted currency: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, SEK, DKK, CHF, JPY, SGD, HKD
Payout options: Visa electron, Visa debit, Maestro, Entropay, PayPal, Skrill, NETELLER, Webmoney, Fast Bank Transfer, Trustly, Trustpay, UseMyServices, paysafecard, Astropay, Bank transfer, Western Union

A minimum deposit of £5 is required for all methods, and with the exception of bank transfer, they are all immediate. If it is possible to do so, withdrawals should be made with the same method that you chose to deposit, which is a typical casino regulation. However, if this isn’t possible, it will be paid directly into your bank account. You can withdraw a minimum of £5 which is less than some other casinos. You have a limit of £10,000 with no fees attached, which is reasonable, but not as good as some others around. Before your first withdrawal, you will be required to provide proof of identity. After this it is generally a quick process and is normally available between 1-5 days via debit cards.

Security and Regulation

The site has been around for many years and knows exactly what is required. This casino is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission and the Gibraltar Gaming Commission. Further to this, it also uses various security measures to ensure your complete safety online. This consists of a high-tech 128-bit SSL encryption to make sure that your personal information is held securely. It has also ensured that its Random Number Generator is regularly tested and is certified by third parties so you can rest assured that it is completely fair.

All the games provided by the casino are tested and certified by TST (Technical Systems Testing) so you know that whilst you are spending your money at this casino, you are playing on a game that has been ruled by a third party as completely fair. It has received Poker RNG certification. Furthermore, the testing agency produces monthly payout reports detailing the RTP to prove that it is completely safe and transparent. William Hill takes responsible gambling seriously. In fact, in 2015 it launched the first Gamble Aware week so people are well informed on safe and responsible gambling. On its website, there is a whole section dedicated to responsible gambling. The company is also linked to Gamblers Anonymous, Gambling Therapy and Responsible Gambling Trust, so you can be sure it always has your best interests at heart.

Customer Support

William Hill is top class when it comes to customer support – as you would expect from a company that has stayed at the top of the business for so long. The customer support is offered in a wide variety of languages, which is helpful on such an international site. You can contact the help desk by telephone, you can also use the live chat as well as an email and Twitter option. All of these options are available 24 hours a day. So whatever time it is, wherever you are in the world, you will be able to contact someone for assistance.

The telephone service from the UK is better than their international help, which is an issue that may need to be addressed, although having said that, it’s still pretty decent. The support is always available in different languages, even on public holidays. This gives you great peace of mind that there is always someone you can talk to if an issue arises. The FAQ page is decent as well, so it’s a good idea to check it out before contacting support. This may be able to provide you with answers to questions such as how to make deposits and withdrawals, football or betting rules or any technical site questions. This is definitely a strong area for William Hill.

Usability of the Online Casino

Because William Hill offers so much, it needs to make sure it’s as user friendly as possible – and is it? Pretty much. It’s relatively easy to find most games and is pretty navigable. The home page is very true to William Hill branding. At the top it leads you to all the different areas of the site such as: Sports; Vegas; Live Casino; Casino; Games; Scratch cards; Bingo; Poker and Macau.

Below this you have another range of tabs that are based around the online casino such as; Promos; Download; Slots; Table; Card; Jackpots; Live Dealer; New and Rules. This makes sure that you are able to find any group of games that you need quickly and easily. As well as this, there is a search function which allows you to just type in whatever you want and it should take you straight to it. The one issue I picked up was that the Help section was tucked away at the bottom and wasn’t particularly easy to find. This perhaps could be made more prominent. Although there is a lot to find on the site, this casino makes sure that you get to where you want as quickly and as easily as possible. It may feel a bit busy, but this is because it has so a lot to offer.

William Hill App: Many Different Slots

During this William Hill review process it became pretty clear that the casino is good at most over things, but what about its mobile app? With mobile casinos getting more competitive and constantly offering more, can this keep up with the young guns? The answer is a resounding “yes”. The William Hill casino app is a good one. This mobile casino offers most of its top games to mobile players to make sure that they can experience everything a desktop player experiences. Pretty much all of the games you can find on its site are available to play mobile which makes it better than most.

The app can be downloaded for William Hill casino but it requires at least iOS 8.0 or later, so isn’t great if you’ve got an earlier phone. You cannot download an app if you have an Android phone, but you can play directly in the browser. Unfortunately, Windows and Blackberry are currently not supported. All in all, this app offers you the best of all the slots games and table games, so is perfect if you want to play William Hill on the go.

Conclusion: Online Casino Go-To Favourite in the UK

William Hill is Britain’s favourite for a reason. It has had plenty of time to develop and has become a great online establishment that offers everything for everyone. The casino is a great addition to this sportsbook favourite. The customer support is great and is contactable 24-hours a day, 7 days a week every single day of the year in several languages. There are a variety of banking methods available for everyone both domestically and internationally. It also has the assurance of being a PayPal casino. It offers many decent welcome bonuses for all of its products with reasonably fair terms and conditions.

Then there’s the mobile casino which offers the best of William Hill on the go, which is a vital addition to the safest online casinos in the market nowadays. Most importantly though is the fact that it is licensed and regulated to a high standard and has been certified by some of the most important safety and regulatory bodies in the industry. It has licenses to provide games to most countries and offers support and games in many different languages. If you want to play in one of the best and most well-established on the market, then be sure to head over to William Hill casino.

William Hill entered New Jersey’s newly legalized sports betting market as the most recognizable and powerful vendor.

Decades of experience in the UK and Nevada give them an advantage and make them a desirable partner for hosting venues. With physical books at Monmouth Park, Ocean Resort in Atlantic City, and at Tropicana, William Hill’s entry to the NJ online betting world was almost anticlimactic.

Online has become a major focus for William Hill. In Nevada, mobile counts for 60 percent of the sportsbook’s handle.

With the NJ sports betting field becoming more crowded, opening in early September 2018 means a big name brings its expertise to college and pro football betting, a peak time for sportsbooks.

Summary

William Hill is a well-known name in the gambling world, especially in the UK. In New Jersey, its claim to fame physical sportsbooks at Monmouth Park and Ocean Resort Casino. For the most part, William Hill NJ sportsbook app is a high quality and straightforward online betting option. It's easy to use and offers an array of bets and sports. However, the site lacks detail and unique additions such as a cashout feature or a more thorough in-game betting option. William Hill NJ is serviceable if not engaging.

How to sign up at William Hill (online and mobile)

On your computer, go to the William Hill main site and click on the link to the New Jersey app. Register with your personal information. Unlike other books, Hill uses your account number as your login.

William Hill Sportsbook app

For mobile, you can download the app through the site or by searching in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. If you use a synced browser on both devices (such as Google Chrome), your login info should transfer seamlessly.

Both options will require downloading tracking software to verify your location as per state regulations.

Signing up is straightforward. Enter all your information, check the boxes, and create an account. As with other sites, you can view prices if you’re not in New Jersey.

However, you must be verified as located in the state to place bets.

Betting with William Hill NJ

The website has a variety of options, including in-game betting, single-games, parlays, teasers, and more.

What sports are available?

  • Auto racing
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Combat Sports (Boxing and MMA)
  • Cricket (futures only right now)
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Rugby (futures only now)
  • Soccer
  • Tennis

While players can bet golf and other sports in person, no golf appears right now online.

In-game betting

William Hill has a betting option called InPlay, which is its in-game betting page. It’s separate from the regular menu of options. If a price is bright on the screen, it’s a live bet. In college football, not all the active games will be offered for InPlay betting.

Not all bets are available for all games. Those that don’t have a moneyline just show the live spread on the InPlay screen and are separated from those with a live moneyline bet. Click on a game to see all the options.

Parlays

It’s football season, so let’s get weird!

William Hill established themselves on the East Coast as they partnered with Delaware Park to take parlay cards on fall weekends. Payout increases with each bet added. They can combine college and pro games.

Pick as many bets as desired up to 10. A small bet can become thousands if the bets hit. If one of the legs push, that bet drops out and payout goes to the next level.

Round Robins

For multigame bettors, they can link bets together in various combinations for even higher payouts with round robins. Select the games, then enter an amount to find out the potential payoff.

William Hill does the math for you.

Teasers

Players can take a few spread bets and get extra points in exchange for lower odds. Players can add from six to 14 points on the point spread on each game to get some space on close games.

The more points taken in the teaser, however, the lower the return payoff.

Futures

Future bets are available through almost all available sports. But there aren’t as many props as other books have.

Deposits and withdrawals at William Hill NJ

Players can deposit their money into William Hill online accounts by a number of methods. These carry a $20 deposit minimum and are as follows:

  • ACH/e-check
  • Credit/debit card (check your bank, not all allow payments)
  • Prepaid William Hill card
  • Cash at a William Hill location in NJ (Monmouth Park or Ocean Resort AC)

To withdraw, you can take cash at a William Hill location in the state or return it to the prepaid card. There is currently no option to get money returned directly to a bank account or have a check mailed.

PayPal and Neteller are currently unavailable at William Hill.

William Hill NJ software

The site is well organized and easy to follow. Click on an option on the left menu to populate the page. Prices appear in the middle. Click a bet and it fills into the bet slip. Add the bet to get the payout. It’s fairly straightforward.

For those who prefer the three-wide spread for bets (spread, money line, totals), go to the Daily List of games. Click an event or the “Click More” link to see the full menu of bets.

InPlay allows players to focus on a specific sport happening live to watch those odds. Drop-down menus and buttons make account access easy.

William Hill sports betting loyalty program

Players can sign up for the William Hill accounts at retail locations in New Jersey. There doesn’t appear to be any options to upgrade accounts or track loyalty programs within the state.

Customer service at William Hill sportsbook

William Hill offers customer service over the phone, through email, and also via live chat.

Overall experience

Compared to the physical location and other NJ online sportsbooks, this site may be a disappointment to some players. Other brands provide more betting options for games. NFL games have a couple of prop bets per game on Sunday. And not all games are available for in-play betting.

There’s also no welcome bonus here but players in Nevada can earn extra money for joining.

It feels like something’s missing. William Hill has brought a solid, clean, straightforward product to a crowded market. But it doesn’t stand out.

The 20-cent vigs on games are standard but not specifically engaging. For a brand with their reputation and online presence in other states, the public expects more.

Great depth of markets

What sports are offered?

8|10

  • 30+ sports
  • Competitive prices throughout
  • Live betting
  • Live streaming

Our review will now look at the markets offered and the live betting suite.

William Hill are the UK’s most prominent chain of bookmakers in High Streets across the country and they’re also one of the biggest names in the online world. This massive exposure means that they have to offer a huge amount of different markets in order to keep their massive customer base happy. The markets offered by William Hill online include:

  • American Football
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Bowls
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • eSports
  • Football
  • GAA Football
  • GAA Hurling
  • Golf
  • Greyhounds
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Ice Hockey
  • Lottery
  • MMA
  • Motor Racing
  • Motorbikes
  • Politics
  • Rugby
  • Snooker
  • Tennis
  • TV
  • UFC
  • Virtual Betting
  • Volleyball
  • Winter Sports

It is clear to see the William Hill has one of the largest selections of different markets currently available. This means that the site is perfect for those who like to bet on a variety of different sports but who don’t want the hassle of using lots of different online bookmakers.

It’s also important to point out that they’ve got hundreds of different bets per event available. When you compare this to other reviewed bookmakers you’ll see many have 30-40 markets per event where as William Hill are more in the 80-110 range.

In-Play Betting

Live streaming alongside betting

Is live betting offered?

9|10

  • Live betting with cash out
  • Live streaming (multiple sports)
  • Scores & stats
  • Event sorting system

The in-play option offered by William Hill is regarding as one of the best online and it has a huge number of different markets available as well as live scores and even the chance to view various games streamed live alongside real time odds.

In game stats are available and detailed which is a big plus – many bookmakers don’t offer or struggle with this feature.

The section is found by clicking on the “In-Play Betting” tab just under all of the sport options and once you click, you will find a highly intuitive and informative page with all of the latest in-play options. The details found include the current odds – which change on an incredibly regular basis – as well as the current score and game stats, which are updated instantly and if the game is being shown live a live stream as well.

Live Streaming at William Hill…

William Hill are one of only a select few online bookmakers who now offer live streams of sporting events to their customers. To watch their live streams, horse racing excluded, you need a funded betting account or to have placed a bet within the last 24 hour period.

To watch horse racing at William Hill you need to have bet a minimum of £1 on the race, a 50p e/w bet would qualify.

Basketball, Football, Cricket and Tennis are the main live sports you’ll be able to view, and live UK and Irish Horse Racing of course, but other more obscure sports are also available.

Alternatively you can tell which events are being live streamed by looking out for the WHTV (William Hill TV) logo which is found next to the primary event market.

Overall it’s one of the better live sections and one of the only ones around to rival that on offer from Bet365 (who are widely considered to have the best offering in this department).

It’s important to note that live betting via the William Hill app mirrors the desktop options so you don’t lose out by using a particular device – it’s a thumbs up from us.

Overall Review

Here’s our overall take on things…

Our Verdict of William Hill

One of the best most trusted bookies

OUR RATING FOR:

WILLAIM HILL

We give every single bookmaker we review a grade between 0 and 5 stars. This grade is to show users how safe and secure the site is as well as gives them an indication as to which we recommended as the best out there.

You’ve probably already noticed (at the top of this review page) that we’ve given William Hill a 4.5 star rating. It’s the second best rating we dish out behind 5 stars so firstly you’d be right to assume that we rate William Hill pretty highly.

They are one of the more cutting edge online bookmakers with live streaming available to users and live betting as well. Their diversity when it comes to odds and markets is good and they’ve got a great reputation in the gambling community world wide.

The only reason they don’t make the 5 star grade for us right now is due to the fact that there are better bookmakers out there when it comes to the generosity of odds on offer and the promotions that are running.

William Hill run a tight, no risk, bookies but it’s often the case that better odds can be found elsewhere. However we’re confident you could quite easily use Will Hill as your only bookmaker and you’d be more than happy with the service provided.

New customers using Promo Code P30 only, min £10/€10 stake, min odds 1/2, free bets paid as 2 x £15/€15 (30 days expiry), free bet/payment method/player/country restrictions apply.

People can visit William Hill on the Internet today to bet on sports, play poker, gamble online in a virtual casino, and even play real money poker. This gambling site has everything in one convenient location. With a single account, members of WilliamHill.com have access to every type of gambling the Internet has to offer.

Introduction

Because I have a lot of really nice things to say about the site, its parent company, and their betting services, I’d like to start my introduction to William Hill with the things I don’t like.

The Site’s Layout Is Disorienting

Go ahead, point your browser to the site and click around the different sections. Even the game categories are weird. What the heck is the category called “Vegas” all about? How is it different from the “Casino” tab? Why are “scratchcards” given a category all their own? Are we meant to think of lotto-style scratchers as being on the same level as poker and sports betting? It looks to me like William Hill is somehow still having growing pains after switching to the Playtech casino game platform in 2009.

Promotions Are Not a Priority

You may not be that big on bonuses and other promos, but a ton of players are, myself included. I like that as a blackjack player I can pretty easily earn $10 in free bets after my first deposit, but after that, I’m not sure I’d ever see a reload offer, since none is available at this time. I see nothing in the way of a referral program, and what bonuses are available seem to have tougher-than-average rollover requirements.

Questions Exist About William Hill’s Affiliations with Rogue Betting Sites

The site inherited some rogue operators when it made a huge deal with Playtech in 2009. Some sites are still up, giving WillHill heck about this issue, but as far as I can tell, the whole thing was resolved a few years ago and had nothing to do with this specific sportsbook/casino’s operations.

And now for the William Hill features I do like:

The Site and Its Games Are Extremely Easy to Access

WillHill gives customers access to bets and games four different ways: online, via mobile, via text, and by phone. The site’s customer service and software are available in twenty-four languages (listed below in the Customer Service review).

The Site Is Operated by a Reputable Business

William Hill is a household name in its native United Kingdom. The company has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2002 as part of the exclusive FTSE 250 index of the highest-grossing UK-based companies. WillHill reported revenue of more than $1.5 billion in 2014. The entire past calendar year has seen the company make big financial gains, to the point that its stock price is higher at the time of this review than it’s ever been.

Most Impressive Lists of Available Markets I’ve Seen

I’ve put a list together of all available bets at my last visit in the Sports Betting section just below, so look for yourself.

Here is an overview of each section of William Hill’s gambling options.

Banking Options

Because this company does business with millions of people from all over the world, they authorize a number of withdrawal and deposit methods. Banking is a little different in different parts of the world, and the cosmopolitan set of banking options at WillHill is a reflection of that fact.

Rather than list all forty-two methods accepted as of this review. Instead, I’ll share ten of the most popular, along with a few facts about them, taken directly from WillHill’s own cashier landing page. See that page for all current available funds transfer methods.

Method Transfer Time Maximum Amount
VISA Instant $99,000
MasterCard Instant $99,000
Electron Instant $99,000
Maestro Instant $99,000
Paypal Instant $5,500
Skrill Instant $88,000
Local Bank Transfer Within 5 days $10,000
Check 2-10 days $100,000
Western Union Transfer Within 2 days $10,000
CashDirect Instant $5,000

Sports Betting

SportsbookReview gives the sports betting section of WillHill an overall “A” rating, based on the size of the company and its holdings, its customer base, overwhelming number of good reviews, and a lack of any funny business on the customer service and payouts end of things.

I count thirty-one different ways to place sports-style wagers, including some real oddballs like lottery betting, political and entertainment futures, and virtual sports.

Here’s that long list of markets that I promised:

  • Horse Racing
  • Football
  • Tennis
  • Cricket
  • Golf
  • Greyhounds
  • American Football
  • Boxing
  • GAA Football
  • Lotteries
  • Politics
  • Snooker
  • Virtual World
  • Australian Rules
  • Cycling
  • GAA Hurling
  • Motor Racing
  • Rugby League
  • Reality TV
  • TV/Specials
  • Volleyball
  • Baseball
  • Darts
  • Handball
  • Motorbikes
  • Rugby Union
  • UFC / MMA
  • Winter Sports
  • Basketball
  • E-Sports
  • Ice Hockey
  • Olympics

William Hill is a UK company, advertising in the UK to a mostly British customer base, so clearly there’s going to be major emphasis on spots popular in England, Scotland, and Wales. But professional and amateur US sports make the list, as do up-and-comers like e-sports and UFC/MMA. It’s nice to see a list of available markets that doesn’t plainly emphasize one canon of sports more than another.

It’s important for sports bettors thinking of doing business with WillHill to understand how their betting maximums work. Rather than limiting the size of your wager, the site limits how much you stand to win. This is especially true in the sportsbook, racebook, and virtual sports wagering section.

How does it work? A new sportsbook customer is limited to winnings of $10,000, which means you can only bet $10 on a 1,000 to 1 proposition, or up to $1,000 on a 10 to 1 prospect.

I know for sure that limits can be increased – I read it in several reviews and customer comments on forums and message boards. I haven’t experienced it for myself, and I can’t tell you how it works exactly, but I imagine that big spenders will find themselves suddenly able to chase a win of more than $10,000 after a couple of generous losses.

Esports

William Hill definitely takes their eSports betting seriously with a list of games offered equal to the other top providers in the industry. Here was the list of games offered the last time we updated this review. As is the industry standard, William Hill only shows the leagues and games that have active bets to avoid too much clutter. If you don’t see the games you want to bet on here, we highly recommend checking the site as they just may not have been in session when we last updated this review.

  • League of Legends – EU LCS Summer Split
  • League of Legends – LPL Summer Season
  • League of Legends – Secondary Pro League
  • League of Legends – LMS Spring Split
  • League of Legends – LJL Summer Split
  • League of Legends – NA LCS Summer Split
  • League of Legends – LCK Summer Split
  • CS:GO – ECS
  • Dota 2 – Epicenter Group A
  • StarCraft
  • Halo Championship Series

While the game selection was good, we didn’t see anything outside of straight match bets. You could bet on who was going to win the match but not anything else. Other sites (we checked at the same time) were offering prop style bets on kill amounts, individual map winners, etc. These would have been nice to have in case you have a hunch or prediction on the game that might not fully affect the final outcome. To be fair, though, the majority of sites only offered the match style betting and a very select few offered the prop style bets.

Financials

The Financials section of WillHill is where bettors can “trade” (read: bet) on foreign currency markets, commodities, and popular market indices.

The site has a special download-only interface available for this form of betting. Called WillHill Day Trader, the application gives bettors access to “132 betting opportunities” daily, and allows for traditional as well as binary betting. Day Trader also promises interactive charts and graphs, regular updates from markets around the world, and news and tips for financials betting from experts.

At the time of my visit, the site was offering financial bettors a first-time deposit bonus of $25 in free wagers.

Casino

The best thing I can say about the casino gambling options at William Hill is that plenty of casino games are available. The library is large, and includes one of the biggest mobile libraries I’ve reviewed yet, as well as a long list of live dealer-capable titles and mobile exclusives.

What I don’t like about the casino games in the site’s library – they were all designed by Playtech. I’m not really down on Playtech in particular, I just don’t like when a site (especially a big one like WillHill) refuses to vary up their offerings. It makes more sense to pick and choose from a variety of platforms – I enjoy most of Playtech’s casino games, for instance, but not their slots.

Here is a breakdown of each of the game categories collected under the site’s Casino tab:

Table Games is a weird name for this category. Out of the nineteen titles listed, fifteen are variations on the classic game of roulette. I like roulette as much as the next guy, but I’m not sure anyone needs fifteen different versions of it, especially since it’s a pretty simple game. The other titles are craps, Sic Bo, and two blackjack variants.

Card Games is where you’ll find classic casino games using cards rather than other props like a roulette wheel. It’s a nice collection of titles, because it’s the first with any real variety, but I still think it’s a bit heavy on one or two games (with a ton of weird variants) rather than a true cross-section of popular casino-style card games.

Card Games

  • Double Attack Blackjack
  • American Blackjack
  • Blackjack Super 21
  • Perfect Blackjack
  • UK Blackjack
  • Blackjack
  • Baccarat
  • Caribbean Stud
  • Casino Hold ‘Em
  • Tequila Poker
  • Blackjack Switch
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Blackjack Surrender
  • Wild Viking
  • Red Dog
  • Progressive Blackjack
  • Pontoon
  • Stravaganza
  • 21 Duel Blackjack
  • Lucky Blackjack

Slots is the section where the site hosts its online slot titles. Playtech, the design firm that produced all these titles, has a huge collection of slot games to offer its licensees. It looks like William Hill licensed every available title – the slot collection is huge.

WillHill breaks up their complete slot library (made up of nearly 200 different titles) into a variety of categories, by the number of lines, special features, and game complexity. Missing from this list – licensed titles, which are popular all over the world, and which Playtech is not known for. I also find the progressive selection to be lacking compared to competitor sites.

Video Poker gathers all the site’s video poker style games under one heading.

Poker Variants

  • Jacks or Better Multi-Hand
  • Jacks or Better
  • Aces & Faces
  • 10’s Or Better
  • Deuces Wild
  • 4-Line Jacks or Better
  • 10-Line Jacks or Better
  • 25-Line Aces & Faces
  • 50-Line Jacks or Better
  • Joker Poker
  • 4-Line Aces & Faces
  • MegaJacks
  • 2 Ways Royal
  • 4-Line Deuces Wild
  • All American
  • 50-Line Joker Poker

Scratch Cards

Surprisingly, this is the newest section added to William Hill’s gaming library.

It’s surprising because scratch-off lottery cards have been popular all over the world for some three decades. Why the sudden turn to these niche products? I’m not a fan of scratch cards in real life, so I can’t even imagine spending time or money online playing virtual versions, but apparently there is a market for this type of betting. The addition of new scratch card products to this game library is an indication of that.

The site currently offers fourteen different scratch cards, but the game play is almost identical no matter which product you choose. The only differences between the different cards are the symbols used and the prize packages. I got so bored after a few minutes of pretend money play that I wandered off to another section.

I should mention that WillHill offers a special Scratch Cards bonus, promising refunds on losing scratch cards up to a limit of $5 on each loss, but the terms and conditions associated are atrocious.

Poker

William Hill’s poker room is part of the iPoker network, which boasted a twenty-four hour average of 2,600 or so cash players, which is enough to make it the fourth-busiest network or site in the world.

I found a couple of different opinions about the quality of competition on the iPoker network. Some say that because of the prominent sportsbook facilities on site at WillHill, bettors from the sports and casino sections tend to wander into the poker rooms and get slaughtered. These reviewers say you’ll find plenty of wild and loose play all over the site. This is apparently particularly true in microstakes games.

I liked the way the poker software looks – which was a rare occurrence for me on any William Hill platform.

Games Offered

  • Texas Hold’em
  • Omaha
  • Omaha Hi-Lo
  • Seven-Card Stud
  • Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo
  • Five-Card Stud

William Hill offers new poker players a special $75 gift bag when they deposit $25 or more. A first-time deposit match bonus is also available, a 200% bonus worth up to $1,200.

I haven’t seen a lineup of European languages that diverse in about a decade, going back to when WillHill was (at one time) available in Magyar, a language spoken by only a few thousand people. Summary

William Hill is one of the best-known names in betting in the UK and throughout Europe. The site has millions of customers in countries all over the world, handing out billions in dollars in winnings every year, with very little to complain about in the way of customer service issues.

The only downsides, in my opinion, are the lack of access for American customers, and a confusing user interface that tended to overwhelm me with choice. That’s not a terrible problem to have, I know, but it still made using the site a bit of a chore, especially in its way-too-busy mobile incarnation.

I don’t think the bonuses available at the time of this review are all that exciting. I didn’t see a traditional deposit match bonus at all, which seems like a strange move for a modern online casino. I’m not in love with the site’s casino gaming options, either, except to say that I’m impressed with the sheer variety of titles (including lots of mobile-exclusive games) they make available to mobile bettors.

Verdict

If you are allowed access to William Hill, and you enjoy betting on a variety of world sports or trying your hand at slots and table games, you should give the site some consideration. The list of promotions is not that impressive, but the site makes up for that with its large variety of betting options and access points.

William Hill FAQ

Players can access the casino and sports betting properties, as well as bingo, poker, and other games, on any of the following devices: iOS phones and tablets, Android phones and tablets, Blackberry devices, and Windows phones and tablets.

The site uses a high security SSL server with 128 bit encryption and a state of the art firewall for all financial information. WillHill is a registered Thawte-secured site. The site runs a giant security section to answer questions of this nature.

The site uses a high security SSL server with 128 bit encryption and a state of the art firewall for all financial information. WillHill is a registered Thawte-secured site. The site runs a giant security section to answer questions of this nature.

The list of restricted countries maintained by WillHill is so long that I’m loathe to copy it here. The best way to check if your country is allowed at the site is to point your browser to the homepage – if you aren’t allowed as a customer, you won’t be able to access the website. Don’t worry, you won’t get in trouble or anything. You’ll just see a big warning sign and be unable to interact with the site itself.

The Sportsbook

Our first impression when clicking into the sportsbook at William Hill is that it is a little busy.  They have a ton going on with lots of information hitting you from all angles on the page.  It is definitely a bit distracting at first.  We’d suggest that William Hill works to clean up this page some so that they don’t get people too distracted with other items like casino games on the sportsbook homepage.

At the top of the William Hill Sportsbook page, you’re able to pick your poison by sorting by sport.  As you’ll see below, William Hill offers a MASSIVE lineup of sports to choose from.  Once you select a sport, you can quickly drill down to see what types of bets and lines they are offering at that time on the event you choose.  The organization of William Hill’s site makes it very easy to navigate and find what it is that you are looking for.

One thing that we really liked about the William Hill Sportsbook homepage was that it clearly calls out In-Play betting.  This means that you can get in on the action for events currently going on now.  This is great for clients looking to wager now and get results soon as opposed to waiting for an event that might be days, weeks, or months away.

Sports You Can Bet On

William Hill offers an absolutely GIANT lineup of sports to bet on and associated wagers.  Their sportsbook has one of the largest offerings that they have ever come across and it does not disappoint.  If you can’t find something that you want to wager on through their website, then you’re one picky individual!  Grab a cup of coffee to keep you focused as you scan this massive lineup of sports that you can bet on at William Hill.

Note:  The list below shows all sports and events that were live on their website at the time of this review.  William Hill only includes sports in season or with active bets available.  We’ll update this list from time to time to keep it as current as possible.  If your sport of choice is out of season and you don’t see it on this list below, be sure to check back on William Hill’s website during the sport’s season to see what wagers they offer at that time.

  • American Football
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • E-Sports
  • GAA Football
  • GAA Hurling
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • Ice Hockey
  • Lotteries
  • Motor Racing
  • Politics
  • Pool
  • Rugby League
  • Snooker
  • TV/Specials Betting
  • UFC / MMA
  • Winter Sports
  • Yachting/Sailing
  • Cricket
  • Greyhounds
  • Tennis
  • Horse Racing
  • Football

Overall, William Hill has one of the best offerings of sports to bet on in the online space.  We’re very pleased with the lineup and some of the unique bets that they offer like the political ones and the next Pope wager.

User Interface

The sportsbook at William Hill is very intuitive.  While the page is a bit busy, one can still easily find what it is that they are looking for.  The overall layout and organization of the sportsbook made it easy to navigate and search.

Users can use the main menu at the top of the page to drill down into the sports that William Hill’s sportsbook offers.  Once you select one of the sports, it will then bring you to a page that shows you all of the current events that you can wager on along with the available bets for that event.  Once you select your preferred type of bet, you’ll see the odds displayed and you can quickly place your wager.

Something that we didn’t see on William Hill that we would have liked to is the ability to sort by type of wager.  Right now, you can only drill down by sports event.  Other sites sometimes offer the ability to sort by type of wager.  This is a nice touch when someone doesn’t really care what the event is and is simply looking to place a certain type of bet.  It would be great if William Hill could add this functionality in the future.

We found the William Hill website to be very responsive from a speed standpoint.  Pages and graphics loaded very swiftly and we did not find a ton of lag.  We never noticed any major snags that left us scratching our head.  It seems that William Hill is properly supported from a speed standpoint.

The Casino

When it comes to selection, William Hill also does not disappoint when it comes to casino games.  They have a broad selection of games with some great graphics and a ton of options to choose from.  We’d wager to say that William Hill offers one of the best casinos out there when it comes to primary online sportsbooks.

How big of a selection of casino games?  Massive!  In total, William Hill offers up 210 slots, 70 jackpots, 37 card games, 37 table games, and 4 live dealer games.  William Hill also offers up 59 scratch cards and bingo games.  With this many options, you’d be hard pressed not to find a game that you like within William Hill’s lineup.  Overall, we’re super impressed with the sheer amount of games that they bring to the table (no pun intended).

William Hill didn’t scrimp when it came to their casino games.  Unlike many other online sportsbooks, William Hill’s casino does not make it look like the casino was an afterthought.  The games have some of the best graphics that we’ve seen out there which makes the games much more engaging.  Games with better graphics don’t come cheap and it is clear that William Hill did not cut corners when it came to their online casino.

As well, William Hill offers branded games and not knock off games.  For example, we found slots for Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern on the William Hill slots lineup.  On some other sites, these would have been knockoff names like Superdude, BayBoy, and Green Light.  We’re big fans of casinos that offer branded games as opposed to knock offs.

One thing that we noticed is that William Hill’s online casino offers some massive jackpots with some of their jackpot games.  The highest jackpot that we found was over £1.3 million (roughly $1.68 million based on exchange rates at the time of this review.  Many of the other jackpots were very large and did not disappoint.  We don’t see jackpots this large very often in the online casino world.

Our favorite thing about William Hill’s casino offerings was the live dealer games.  Currently, live dealer games are a big trend in the online casino community.  Casinos not offering live dealer games will soon be missing out.  At the time of this review, William Hill offers live dealer games of Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, and Poker.

Overall, William Hill does not disappoint when it comes to their online casino setup.  They have a massive selection, great graphics, and live dealer options.  They really brought their A-game when it came to the online casino lineup and it shows.  We don’t have anything that we’d suggest that they change at this time when it comes to their online casino.

As with the deposit options, we’re extremely pleased with the sheer amount of withdrawal options that William Hill offers their clients.  Having this many options gives William Hill’s clients some of the best flexibility that we have seen from online sportsbooks and casinos.  We give William Hill a ton of props overall for their deposit and withdrawal lineup of options.

Bonuses and Promotions

William Hill has no shortage of promotional offers.  We found a wide variety of options available on the William Hill website.  Below, we’ll break down some of the major promotions that we found at the time of this review:

New Customer Offer

Like most other online sportsbooks and casinos, William Hill has an offer aimed at helping attract new clients.  At the time of this review, William Hill is offering new clients £30 (roughly $39 based on exchange rates at the time of this review) of free bets when the client bets £10 for the first time.  This new customer offer allows clients the ability to get a 300% bonus on their initial bet.

In order to qualify for the new customer offer at William Hill, you need to be exactly that, a new customer.  The only fine print that we found relating to the offer was simply that your initial bet must be placed on odds of ½ (1.5) or greater.  Overall, this is a good new customer offer from William Hill and you should be sure to take advantage of it if you plan to wager on their site.

2 Clear Bonus

William Hill offers a very creative bonus for folks betting on horses with their 2 Clear Bonus.  With the 2 Clear Bonus, players will earn an extra 15% bonus on their winning if the horse they back wins by more than 2 lengths.  The best part is that you won’t need to do anything to sign up for the bonus.  William Hill will automatically tack on your bonus earnings should your pick qualify.

Looking at the fine print, there are a few things to note about the William Hill 2 Clear Bonus.  First, the maximum bonus is £100 (roughly $130 based on exchange rates at the time of this review).  Secondly, the 2 Clear Bonus is only applicable to select UK & Irish flat races.  Lastly, at least 6 horses must participate in order for the race to qualify for the bonus.

4 Means More Promotion

William Hill’s 4 Means More bonus allows you the opportunity to earn an extra free 25% bonus on top of your winnings for select games when 4 or more goals are scored in that game.  Your wager must be one of these bet types:  match betting, both teams score or match result, and both teams to score.  William Hill puts out a weekly list of the matches that will be included in this promotion.

Just like with the 2 Clear Bonus, the 4 Means More bonus is capped at a maximum bonus of £100.  The bonus also only applies to 90 minutes.  Therefore, if a game goes into extra time or penalties, the goals that are scored during those times will not count towards the bonus threshold.

Cash In My Bet Promotion

William Hill also offers another creative promotion with their Cash In My Bet Promotion.  With this promotion, you can get a cash buyback value for a bet ticket either before or during match play.  This is a great option for gamblers that feel like the game is about to turn against them.  Instead of losing everything, you may be able to recoup some of your cash.

This promotion is offered on the biggest markets by William Hill.  To see what the cash value is on your current bets, simply go to “Open Bets”.  There, you will find a stated cash in value for all of your current qualifying wagers.  If you’d like to cash in your bet, you can easily finish the transaction right there within the “Open Bets” section of William Hill.

We’re really impressed with this promotion.  We can’t recall seeing anything like this before.  Unique promotional offers like this help set William Hill apart from the competition.

Super Sub Promotion

Rounding out the current promotions from William Hill is their Super Sub Promotion.  With this promotion, your goalscorer bet is still on even if your player isn’t.  For select televised matches this season, William Hill will allow the player replacing an injured one to still count towards the original wager.  If the replacement player scores, you still win!

This is a super cool promotion that William Hill is putting on.  We’ve not seen anything like this before.  Be sure to check out which games qualify so that you can participate in the Super Sub Promotion at William Hill.

Overall, William Hill has done an amazing job when it comes to bonuses and promotions.  They offer some very unique and creative bonuses that should help them attract and retain players.  We’re excited to see what else William Hill comes up with from bonuses and promotions in the future.

Casino Related Bonuses

If you’ll be playing on William Hill’s online casino, be sure to check out the promotions that they offer there as well.  At the time of this review, they offer a signup bonus, first deposit bonus, and account reload bonuses.  For more details on these promotions, simply check out the promo tab on the William Hill casino section.

Customer Service

William Hill does not disappoint when it comes to customer service as they offer a slew of options for players to contact them if and when they need assistance.  At the time of this review, players can use live chat, phone, email, Twitter, or good old snail mail to contact the support team at William Hill.  William Hill claims they have customer service agents working 24/7 around the clock to be there for their players regardless of the time or day.

Live chat is available 24/7 on the William Hill website and it looks to be their preferred method of contact.  As with most other online sportsbooks and casinos, live chat (if offered) tends to be the fastest way to get assistance with an issue.  We tested out the live chat while doing this review and we found the interface easy to use and the response time of the customer service agent to be very fast.  The agent was knowledgeable and easily answered all of our questions.

For phone support, William Hill offers a large amount of international free phone numbers.  At the time of this review, William Hill offers free international phone numbers for 26 different countries.  Most of these are European countries but some Asian countries such as Japan and South Korea are included as well.  Customer service agents at William Hill man the phones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

William Hill also offers email support to clients if live chat or phone is not an option.  To email William Hill, simply head to the contact us page on the website and select the email option.  Emails are monitored 24/7 by their customer service team.

If Twitter is your preferred method of contact, you can also use it to get ahold of William Hill customer service.  You can tweet @WillHillHelp to reach the William Hill customer service team.  Tweets are also monitored 24/7 by the William Hill customer service team.

Lastly, William Hill can be contacted by snail mail.  While we’re not sure why anyone would use this option with the slew of other (much faster) options above, it is still a possibility.

New William Hill online customers only. Min. unit stake of £10/€10 at odds of 1/2 or greater. Only the “win” part from EW bets will count. Free bet terms, payment method, and country restrictions apply. Free bets credited as 3 x £10/€10. Free bet stakes are not returned as part of the settlement of successful free bets. All Free Bets must be wagered within 30 days.

Most bookmakers have a name that in some way alludes to gambling, money, or athletics. Using certain terms makes it easy to find them when a person searches on the internet or inquires about their type of service, but the name William Hill seemingly suggests nothing about betting. However, after eight decades in the industry, with shops around the globe, and more than two million online users, they are experts.

William Hill's Sportsbook

A top book with all you could ask for

Variety of bets for all types of bettors

As you would expect with an experienced betting site, William Hill offers everything you could ask for when it comes to what, when, and how to bet in their sportsbook. Standard betting is available for a huge number of games in a ton of different sports and even smaller leagues and events are covered closely. Exotics and futures are options on almost all marquee events and many smaller games too.

The wagering menu includes over 30 sports ranging from niche sports like sumo wrestling to the NFL. Even when special events come around, like the Olympics, Will Hill will expand the line selection to include special props. Within the sportsbook, you can choose your preferred odds format and language, or even turn on the William Hill Radio.

William Hill also has what they call their Tip Advisor for bettors. The Tip Advisor is a section that offers insight into what the sharps are picking. It can be a blessing and a curse because it can either it make you question your bet or reinforce your decision.

Live Betting & Streaming

William Hill’s live betting is vast and includes much more than standard bets. In fact, in-play betting is one of their most popular features and for good reason. There are almost as many in-game wagers available as there are before the event begins.

Beyond the ability to play games in whatever manner you prefer, they offer tremendous analysis and coverage of contests. The streaming software at William Hill allows you to watch almost anything that is televised throughout the globe as it happens before even placing a bet.

In addition to watching games, extensive and detailed previews, stats, perspectives, and opinions are available for you to factor into how you want to bet. Radio streaming is also offered with analysis and play-by-play of matches, races, and games.

Mobile Betting

The William Hill site completely has adapted to your mobile device of choice. It can be slightly overwhelming at times based solely on the line selection—you could be scrolling for a while before finding the right odds. Other than that, it’s easy to navigate and has a visually appealing interface.

More than just a mobile site, William Hill has an app that you can use to bet and watch live sports. The app is extremely user-friendly and comprehensive. Any sport you’re looking for won’t be hard to find and, in the off chance you are having difficulties, the app directly links you to William Hill’s Twitter, Facebook Messenger, and Contact page if needed. At the time of this review, the public consensus is similar to ours as the rating is 4.5/5 and 4.3/5 at the App Store and Google Play respectively.

Additional Offerings: Racebook, Poker Room & Casino

Outside of wagering on sports, William Hill has an extensive betting menu including a casino, racebook, and a poker room with a huge range of games.

Most people with an account at William Hill are primarily sports fans, but perhaps they are interested in other gambling. The site recognizes that notion and prioritizes sports first, horses second, and games third. While the selection of is not enormous, it quenches the thirst for Las Vegas-style gaming with poker, bingo, macau, scratchcards, and more casino games.

William Hill’s racebook offers a full menu of tracks and bet types with live streaming for nearly all of them. One unique feature of the racebook is the virtual horse racing where you can bet on a race in the virtual world every 3 minutes everyday.

The Bottom Line

William Hill is known for quality and because they’re a high volume business they’ve learned to iron out any hitches years ago. As professional and reliable as a sportsbook can get, William Hill does not offer huge incentives when it comes to bonuses, but the live betting, line selection, and experience of being an industry leader for over 80 years is hard to beat.

The good news about wagering with a big and established book is that they are trustworthy and stable. If you’re looking for a trusted sportsbook with decades of bettors behind it, William Hill is the site for you.

William Hill Review Summary

William Hill’s history in sports betting dates back to before World War II. The bookmaker was established in 1934 and is one of London’s original High Street bookies. The storied shop hasn’t missed a beat transition from the old school to the new, as they are one of the world’s largest and most profitable online bookmakers.

William Hill is the largest bookie in the UK and Ireland. They employ over 16,000 workers with offices in Leeds and Wood Green in the United Kingdom and other properties in Gibraltar and Ireland. They have over 2,300 land-based shops. They are licensed in Gibraltar but also hold a gambling license in the United Kingdom. They are also licensed in both Italy and Spain, and a host of other countries. William Hill is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol: WMH.

While they don’t accept American residents at WilliamHill.com, they are the first British bookmaker to receive a license to operate in Nevada, where they operate over 100 betting locations in the state. The company also serves as a risk manager for the State of Delaware’s sports lottery. In addition to sports betting, William Hill offers players an online casino, skill games, bingo, poker and financial wagering

A Personal Opinion on William Hill

What We Like About William Hill

Longevity and trustworthiness are important even in regulated betting markets. Punters will have legal recourse to get their balances if they aren’t paid, but who wants to deal with that? Our point is, punters can sleep better knowing they have their money with a sportsbook that has been in business for over 80 years. Depending on the market, their odds can vary quite wildly when it comes to profitability. Their edge is considerably higher on small markets and futures, but for major markets, they’re one of the best. Their betting limits are also quite large.

William Hill offers plenty of payout methods, their payouts are among the fastest worldwide and many other bookmakers can’t match their speeds, particularly to e-wallets. During business days, these are often paid in just a few hours. Many bookmakers promote streaming options, but few do it as well as William Hill when it comes to streaming alongside in-play markets. William Hill TV provides live streaming of tons of different sports, including football and tennis. They also offer radio several radio stations.

What We Don’t Like About William Hill

When it comes to sportsbooks like William Hill, it’s tough to find too many disadvantages. They’re debatably a top ten sportsbook worldwide, so there’s not a ton of true negatives that should dissuade punters from depositing. The one issue that they have which is also common with similar predominately British bookmakers is that their markets are heavily focused on the UK, and to a lesser extent Irish betting markets. Other markets have far fewer betting markets or are not available at all.

If you’re interested in betting a lot of Eastern European football or international leagues of any sport across the world, William Hill probably won’t be your first choice. Paddy Power, one of their rivals, has a much larger selection of markets that are outside of the British and Irish betting sphere.

William Hill Sportsbook Bonuses

Free £20 Bet for New Accounts

William Hill offers new customers a £20 free bet when they create their account. To receive the free bet offer, players must have a new account at William Hill. After making your account, simply deposit and place a £10 or greater wager at odds of 1/5 (1.2 decimal odds).

After doing so, William Hill will credit your account with free bets totaling £20. There is no rollover or play through period with these wagers. Once the free bets are placed, the winnings will be added directly to the cash balance after the bets settle. WH also offers many other promotional wagers, some similar to Paddy Power’s “Money Back Specials”, though they are not quite on that level when it comes to value to punters or frequency. Checking their promotional page is still worth it, as offers are frequently updated.

William Hill Review Highlights

Interface and Odds

William Hill offers a top of the line betting PlayTech software. All of their available sports are listed on the top of the page, with the betting markets making up the body. Placing bets of any type is simple, and the software is faster than most other sportsbooks.

As far as markets available, English language bettors will find just about every sport available when it comes to Western Europe and North American markets. These will have the most extensive bet offerings, along with live betting options.

Speaking of in-play betting, William Hill’s software may be the best online. For most Western European sports, live betting options are extensive. This changes a bit with smaller markets, but William Hill’s in-playing betting coupled with their large list of streaming options is a punter’s dream come true. As overall odds, they’re competitive almost across the board. Their profit margins in basketball and football are the best. Some smaller markets may not be the best, but when it comes to major markets, Will Hill a spot to look for the best odds available.

Large Wagering Limits

Maximum bets will vary depending on the market, but for just about every major football league, including the English Premier League, Spanish Primera, etc. the maximum winnings are £500,000. Things drop drastically regarding smaller market sports, or proposition wagers that aren’t a part of typical match betting. These can be as low as £50k-£100k, depending on the sport and betting market. One issue we have seen mentioned in the online forums is that William Hill is quick to limit players who show signs of being sharp. It’s tough to say how frequent this, (this data isn’t readily available) but it does appear to be happening more frequently the past few years.

Multi-Language Support

William Hill provides 24/7, 365 days a year. They can be contacted by live chat, phone, or email. They also offer support in many different languages, which is also available 24 hours a day. There have been some complaints about support, but that may be partly due to the William Hill’s extensive “know your customer” protocol. They ask for several forms of verification before withdrawals can be processed, which can delay payouts. However, this is standard procedure at online gambling sites worldwide and isn’t anything unusual for those who bet online.

Fast Payouts, Lots of Currencies Accepted

William Hill’s cashier and processing speeds are one of their best attributes. They process withdrawals faster than most bookmakers online. Many customers report e-wallet payouts to Neteller and Skrill as quickly as a few hours after requesting. They accept a variety of currencies, aside from Pounds and Euros. Currently, players can deposit with Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, United States Dollars, Danish Krone, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Singapore Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, and Swiss Franc. There are no fees for deposits and withdrawals, regardless of your method. Visa, MasterCard, Neteller, and Skrill are their most popular methods. Payouts back to credit and debit cards may take several business days. Withdrawals to e-wallets are processed in 24 hours or less.

Overall – William Hill Sportsbook Review

Will Hill is still doing it better than pretty much everyone else. If you’re based in the United Kingdom and Ireland or have an interested in Western European markets, there is no better option than William Hill’s in-play betting experience. Their pricing is also borderline elite and there are fewer better options for punters.

William Hill and William Hill Sportsbook

The original William Hill company has esteem that spans decades.

The company’s international prestige started long before the creation of an online sportsbook was even possible. After all, the William Hill brand found its way to the Las Vegas Strip six years before online sportsbooks were legal.

However, it was not until the legalization of online sportsbooks in 2018 that the brand made its way to New Jersey. Now, there is a whole new website dedicated to NJ online sports betting. While the Nevada account has its perks, the New Jersey sportsbook is the most convenient solution for East Coast bettors (or anyone who is visiting the Garden State).

In the time since PASPA fell, William Hill has also expanded its operations into West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and nearly every other state with legal sports betting.

Depositing at William Hill Sportsbook

Here are the two ways that bettors can deposit funds:

  • Cash at cage via Resorts in Atlantic City or at Monmouth Park Raceway
  • Visa/Mastercard

Withdrawing from William Hill Sportsbook

Here are the two ways which bettors can withdraw funds:

  • Cash at cage via the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City
  • William Hill Prepaid Card

Fund availability

Fortunately, what William Hill Sportsbook lacks in funding options, it makes up for in availability.

When bettors deposit funds into a William Hill account, they are immediately available for use. Likewise, the limited options for withdrawing also offer immediacy. Therefore, bettors continue to be comfortable with the options, because they are safe, secure and readily available.

William Hill Sportsbook FAQ

Here are some answers to common questions about William Hill Sportsbook:

Who can bet with William Hill Sportsbook?

William Hill Sportsbook must adhere to every other sportsbook and gambling entity. To bet with real money in New Jersey, bettors must be at least 21 years of age and physically located in the state.

Do bettors have to be in New Jersey?

Yes, to bet on William Hill Sportsbook, bettors must be physically located in New Jersey. Residency is not a requirement, but they must be somewhere within the boundaries of the state when betting. The geolocation check ensures that the bettor is adhering to the rules of physical placement.

Can bettors deposit/withdraw funds outside of New Jersey?

Bettors are not able to make bets if they are not within the boundaries of the Garden State. Yet, that does not mean that the account is rendered useless.

William Hill NJ Sportsbook — one of the largest sportsbook operators in the United Kingdom — is now available within New Jersey’s boundaries.

William Hill has already opened physical sportsbook locations at Monmouth Park racecourse and the new Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City. And just like William Hill’s operations in Europe and Nevada, its physical presence is enhanced by an online sportsbook.

William Hill NJ sportsbook app

A large online presence in 2018 also means a robust mobile presence, and William Hill is no exception. Just like customers in Europe and Nevada, New Jersey players get a fully functional mobile app coming to both iOS and Android devices.

As with the Nevada app, New Jersey players will only be able to use the sportsbook app to place wagers while within the state of New Jersey. While you can download the app from elsewhere, you will not be able to bet while in another state.

Creating a new account at William Hill NJ

Because of William Hill’s extensive experience in Europe, the company has ironed out its online sign-up process. The first thing you need to do is go to the William Hill site and then sign up or download the app (at the iTunes Store for iPhones, or download directly for Android).

Online, the homepage features a click-through to a simple sign-up form that explains how new enrollees can verify their age and identity. In New Jersey, this involves a government-issued ID as well as the last four digits of one’s Social Security number.

Signing up through the mobile app is just as straightforward. You simply download the app, fill out the online form, then use the app to scan both sides of your driver’s license or other photo identification.

Once the your identity is confirmed, and you’ve made a deposit, the account should be ready for use.

Types of bets at William Hill NJ

Straight bets are the bread and butter of sports wagering, and they are likely to remain so at William Hill New Jersey. Those include spreads, moneylines, totals and futures.

As with the company’s current brick-and-mortar sportsbooks in the Garden State, bettors are allowed to play:

  • Parlays: A bet combining two more other wagers
  • Proposition bets: Individual or team outcomes that happen within a selected event
  • Teasers: A wager that shifts the point spread in one direction or another.
  • Round robins: A bet combining multiple parlays.

The popularity of futures bets means that New Jersey players can also expect to see a full complement of them. This naturally includes the most anticipated date on the American sports calendar: the Super Bowl.

In-play wagering at William Hill NJ

Due to its worldwide popularity, in-play wagering — or bets that take place after an event has started — has become a standard online offering.

William Hill’s online sportsbook in New Jersey provides a daily list of games that feature in-play wagering. There’s no reason to think the same system won’t come to New Jersey.

Frequently asked questions about William Hill NJ

Are there age requirements?

Yes. You must be at least 21 years old to create a William Hill account or place a bet through its website or app.

Are there residency requirements?

No. You do not need to be a resident of New Jersey. Any player of legal age located inside the Garden State may play.

William Hill Nevada

William Hill acquired American Wagering Inc. in 2011. That was its first entry into the US gaming market.

William Hill offers more betting shops than any other Nevada company. There are more than 100 William Hill betting shops and kiosks in the state.

William Hill uses a proprietary mobile app. It is licensed to South Point and its affiliated books. The two platforms are independent in terms of odds and banking.

Types of bets available on William Hill Nevada sportsbook app

William Hill’s mobile betting apps offer most of the same bets that are available in its land-based shops. The favorite among serious bettors is straight bets. This is a wager on a single event or outcome. Point spreads, moneylines and totals are the most common straight wagers.

William Hill offers many of its parlay and teaser cards on the app. Players may make parlays and teasers off the board. All prop and futures wagers are also spread on the mobile app.

William Hill’s in-play wagering is a perfect fit for the mobile app. This form of betting involves games already in action. Players watching the game from a sportsbook may still want to make in-play wagers through the mobile app to avoid quick price changes and queues at the betting window. William Hill offers more in-play wagers than any other sportsbook in Nevada.

William Hill Nevada bonuses

William Hill offers new players a 100% percent up to $150, first-deposit bonus.

The bonus is awarded in the form of a free bet. The player only wins the amount of the free bet. The bonus may not be withdrawn. It is lost, even if the free bet is a winner.

All players qualify for an ongoing cash-back program. William Hill pays all players 0.1 percent of the amount wagered in the form of cash on straight bets.

This is doubled on horseracing, parlays and teasers. Players must opt into this promotion through the William Hill website or by calling customer support.

William Hill Nevada deposit options

There are three ways to make a deposit into a William Hill mobile account.

Cash is accepted at all William Hill sportsbooks in Nevada. A courier will drive to any Nevada home or office to process a cash deposit of at least $500. William Hill has kiosks in dozens of Nevada taverns that accept cash.

Players may use a rewards card from the bar’s video poker machines or manually punch in the account number to make the deposit on a kiosk. PTs and taverns that use Golden Gaming as its slot vendor host these mobile deposit centers.

These kiosks once accepted sports bets directly. The Nevada Legislature outlawed this in 2013. Full-service casinos may still use William Hill’s kiosks.

Gold Strike in Jean, also referred to as Terrible’s Roadhouse is an example of an unrestricted casino licensee without a betting window that still uses kiosks to accept bets.

William Hill withdrawal options

The only way to withdraw from the William Hill mobile app is by cash at a betting shop.

The only exception to this is at the handful of full-service casinos that have kiosks instead of a live betting window. Mobile app customers can make withdrawals at the casino cage at these establishments.

The William Hill mobile app account number and a valid photo ID are required to make a withdrawal.

Players were once able to withdraw up to $500 at PT’s Pubs. The 2013 law that banned sports betting kiosks also put an end to this cash-out option.

William Hill Sportsbook locations

William Hill has more betting shops than any other Nevada sports betting company. There are more than 70 casinos with William Hill affiliation.

SLS Las Vegas and Casino Royale are the only two on the Las Vegas Strip. William Hill operates downtown Las Vegas sportsbooks at Plaza, Binion’s, 4Queens, Downtown Grand and The D.

It is also the operator of books in nearly every other gaming jurisdiction in Nevada, including Primm, Jean, Tahoe, Mesquite, West Wendover, Reno, Carson City and Pahrump.

Advantages of using William Hill Nevada sports betting app

The biggest advantage of using the William Hill sports betting app is its number of deposit locations. Most Nevadans live within a few miles of a William Hill Sportsbook or mobile deposit kiosk.

This includes taverns with deposit kiosks throughout the west side of the Las Vegas Valley that is mostly void of casinos and betting shops.

The William Hill app is reliable with an extensive menu of betting options. William Hill’s in-play betting offers action on all NFL games and nearly any other professional and college event.

The house edge on its futures bets is among the lowest in Nevada. William Hill’s prop betting house edge is also on the lower side of average.

William Hill’s app offers a major advantage over the Miomni one that is used by Boyd Gaming, Aliante Casino, Westgate, and Wynn. The William Hill app works over wireless internet. It does not require bettors to turn off wireless to make a wager. This can be annoying for bettors looking to make a quick wager.

The $2 minimum bet is the lowest available on any Nevada app. This includes straight bets and exotics. The 10 percent, up to $50, deposit bonus is another great feature offered by William Hill.

Disadvantages William Hill app has over competitors

The only way to withdraw from the William Hill app is to visit one of the company’s betting shops. This is not a problem for most Nevadans since William Hill operates dozens of sportsbooks in the state.

This most inconveniences residents on the west side of Las Vegas due to the lack of William Hill sportsbooks in that half of the metro area.

William Hill’s app is not compatible with Cricket phone customers. It is impossible for these mobile users to make a wager at William Hill. Those players may still see the betting line.
