Summary

Once in a while, I get to review a site that is legendary in the industry. Sometimes, a site has become legendary for the wrong reasons; this is not the case with this review of Ladbrokes. The Ladbrokes name has been synonymous with gambling for well over 100 years in England, and with their entry into the online gaming market, the company hoped to create a more global brand.

Did they succeed?

I’ll give the site a thorough once-over so you can get an honest review and recommendation at the end of this page.

About Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes is one of the most well-known brands in the history of gambling in the UK, with betting shops that date back to the 1800s. As for the online portion of their operation, the betting site has been available for use since 2000, with many additions to the platform along the way.

Ladbrokes is owned and operated by Ladbrokes Coral PLC, a publicly-traded company on the London Stock Exchange. This is excellent news for players, as all the firm’s financials have to be reported to shareholders. Ladbrokes and Coral merged in 2015 to take advantage of economies of scale, and as a result, the Gala Casino is also operated by this group.

The company has two gaming licenses; they come from the UK Gambling Commission and the Gibraltar Gaming Authority. This allows the company to take players from the UK while also being able to take advantage of some tax shelters offered by the UK-owned jurisdiction of Gibraltar.

Who Can Play at Ladbrokes?

Being one of the largest land-based gambling operations in the world, Ladbrokes is clearly on the radar of every regulatory group. With that in mind, and to maintain its online gaming licenses, there is a stringent list of countries that are not allowed to play here for real money. Unfortunately for those living in the U.S., this includes you; even though you see the Ladbrokes name plastered on most European sports you watch in the States, you cannot head to that site to make a wager.

Here is the full list of the other countries that are not allowed to play at Ladbrokes:

  • American Samoa
  • Belgium
  • Bulgaria
  • China
  • France
  • Greece
  • Hong Kong
  • Israel
  • Italy
  • Poland
  • Slovenia
  • South Africa
  • Turkey
  • United States
  • S. Virgin Islands
  • S. Minor Outlying Islands
  • Hungary
  • Norway
  • Switzerland
  • Finland
  • Portugal
  • Romania
  • Russia
  • Albania
  • Armenia
  • Belarus
  • Croatia
  • Czech Republic
  • Japan
  • Lithuania
  • Luxembourg
  • Slovakia
  • South Korea
  • Canada
  • Ukraine
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • Cyprus

Software Suppliers

It will come as no surprise that given the company launched their online sports business in 200, they ended up building their own platform for the sportsbook portion of the site. Thankfully, they chose to work with software partners for their casino and poker products, and at the top of that list is Playtech. The industry heavyweight provides games for the casino as well as the poker software; you will also find content from the following providers sprinkled across the site:

  • Ash Gaming
  • Evolution Gaming,
  • IGT
  • Net Entertainment
  • Realistic Games
  • NextGen
  • WMS
  • Barcrest
  • Quickspin
  • Push Gaming
  • Endemol Games
  • Novomatic
  • Games Warehouse
  • Genesis Gaming
  • Blueprint Gaming
  • Mazooma
  • GW Games
  • CORE Gaming
  • SG Interactive
  • Bally Technologies

With this many providers, you can expect to find hundreds of titles that feature very different graphics, which is excellent news for players who tend to find their experience goes stale when playing games that all look similar.

The Ladbrokes offering is available through instant play on both PC and mobile browsers, and in particular jurisdictions, you will find a bespoke app for both sports and casino available in your mobile provider’s app store.

The Good Stuff

Multi-vertical Platform
I am always touting the value of having multiple verticals on the same platform. Having a one-wallet solution for poker, casino, and sports (and lottery at Ladbrokes) gives you the ability to move from one game to another without having to change sites or make multiple deposits.

Millions in Progressive Jackpots

You have heard me say this before, but the allure of making one spin of the reels and changing your life forever is too much to walk away from. At Ladbrokes, you can choose from 21 different jackpot games, including the huge Jackpot Giant. This game, Playtech’s biggest, has a jackpot that currently sits just below USD 10,000,000. DO yourself a favor and get to that game as soon as possible before the jackpot is won by someone else!

The Bad Stuff

Limited Customer Service Hours

I am shocked that a company that is this advanced on so many levels doesn’t offer 24/7 customer support. The timing for the support team is definitely UK-focused, which I understand but as someone who doesn’t play in that time zone, I am frustrated that there isn’t an agent available when I need help all day.

No Esports Betting

I am stunned by this one; esports are growing in popularity across the globe and betting on these video game matches is a great entry point for millennials into the online gambling space. Perhaps I am missing something, but I would think Ladbrokes would want to be at the forefront of wagering on esports.

Sportsbook

I will start my review with the Ladbrokes sportsbook, seeing as this is their claim to fame and what they have been involved in for the longest time. Not surprisingly, the sports section is bursting with possible bets to make, including being able to make all the standard bet types. If you are looking for a quick snapshot of what you can bet on, here is a list of the sports they show in their lobby:

  • American Football
  • Aussie Rules
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Football
  • Formula 1
  • Gaelic Football
  • Golf
  • Greyhound Racing
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Hurling
  • Ice Hockey
  • Motor Cycling
  • Motor Sports
  • Movies
  • Politics
  • Royal Specials
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Specials
  • Speedway
  • TV Specials
  • Tennis
  • UFC/MMA
  • Virtual Sports
  • Volleyball

Many of these sports are also available for live, in-game betting. The site provides links to streaming of games from around the world, and with the click of a button on your phone or PC, you can make a wager on who is going to score next along with a whole host of other options.

If real sports don’t do it for you, have no fear; the company has a full section dedicated to Virtual Sports. These computer-generated matches feature the teams you know and love, but only take about 5 minutes to complete so you can make your wagers much faster than waiting out a traditional soccer match.

The sportsbook has its own bespoke app which offers all the same bet options as the full site, meaning there is no reason to miss out on a bet anywhere!

Finally, the company has set up a betting exchange, similar to the one run by Betfair. If you have never used a betting exchange, it is pretty straightforward. In an exchange format, anyone can create odds for a match (which are different than the actual odds) and post the bet waiting for someone to accept it. The site takes their commission, and the bet is paid out just like it would if it was a bet versus the house.

Poker

Ladbrokes Poker is part of the iPoker Network, the network operated by Playtech. The poker world took a major hit in 2006 and again in 2011 after sites were shut down in the United States, but that hasn’t stopped this network from offering poker players a great selection of tournaments and cash games.

The poker client can be downloaded to your machine or mobile or played via Flash (sorry, Apple users), and from there you will see many poker-specific promotions, along with the full tournament schedule. Currently, the network offers a $30,000 guaranteed weekly event; this is a far cry from the millions being played for on other sites, but you can expect the play here to be much weaker.

Casino Game Selection

Live Dealer Games

Ladbrokes offer their player a few of the table games as Live Dealer options; these games are a ton of fun and quickly became one of my favorite ways to play at online casinos. You can select from the dealer of your choice, then that person pops up in a webcam to play the game against you. For this service, the site uses Evolution Gaming, who is among the leaders in Live Dealer software.

You can play the following games via Live Dealer:

  • Baccarat
  • Casino Hold’em
  • Dream Catcher
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • Three Card Poker
  • Ultimate Texas Hold’Em

Slots

With this many providers to choose from, you will be shocked to find out that there are 1000 different slot machines available in the Ladbrokes Casino lobby.  Now, don’t get me wrong, there are still a ton of options for you; I applaud the casino for not clogging things up with too many choices.  You will find some of the best-licensed content in any casino, including many names you will know from the entertainment world.  Have a look at some of my favorite games which you can find at Ladbrokes:

  • Age of the Gods: Fate Sisters
  • Age of the Gods: Furious 4
  • Archer
  • Atlantis Queen
  • Batman & Catwoman Cash
  • Batman & Mr. Freeze Fortune
  • Batman & The Batgirl Bonanza
  • Captain Cannon’s Circus of Cash

Table Games

Ladbrokes casino features all the standard table games, including those from Playtech, Net Entertainment, and Novomatic. What that brings to you is a selection of tables that have slightly different rules and a fresh look and feel, covering everything you could possibly want from a casino. Here are the games you will find in the lobby:

  • Baccarat

Casual Games

These games, also known as Specialty Games, appeal to an audience that is more of a social gambler than those who spend hours at the blackjack tables. Many of these games are super easy to play with huge jackpots but terrible odds for the player. If these games are of interest to yo, then you will find loads of great options at the site:

  • Love Match

Promotions

Ladbrokes.com is packed full of promotions that range from general bonuses to game-specific offers. For the sake of this review, I am going to focus on a couple of the casino-only promotions that I think you should make a note of if you are considering being a player on this site.

Welcome Bonus

There are Welcome Bonuses for each different type of game the site offers, but as soon as you select one, you cannot take them up on the other offers. Depending on what game you consider as the first to play, you should doublecheck the bonus to make sure that you are getting the best value. Here is the breakdown of the casino Welcome Offer:

100% Match Bonus to a maximum of $500.

While this may seem simple, it is the Terms and Conditions that must be read and understood, so there is no confusion when you are playing:

While this isn’t the best bonus we have ever seen at this site, it still provides you with the chance to earn out some bonus dollars with your initial deposit.

Ladbrokes Adventure

I love this promotion, as it employs some of the strategy used by social gaming casinos to attract players. This promotion is based on earning coins, which you do when you complete challenges while playing the real money games across all the Ladbrokes products. As you complete challenges, you unlock different rewards which you can head to the reward center to redeem.

Everything about this promotion is excellent, from the way you complete challenges to the steady drip of prizing you can win by unlocking each level. I applaud Ladbrokes for taking their marketing to another level with this crossover promotion!

Banking

While there aren’t too many countries that can access the games at Ladbrokes, there is a wealth of options available to those who can make a deposit. Some of the e-wallet solutions offer instant withdrawal as well, so there is no waiting around for your money!

Deposit Options

  • Bank Wire Transfer

Comp Program

The Comp Program at Ladbrokes is the standard program offered by Playtech licensees. You earn points by playing real money casino games; 1 comp point is earned for every $10 wagered on the games. When you earn 100 points, you can redeem them for $1 in real money. It is important that you convert these points as soon as you have enough as they have an expiry date and you wouldn’t want to get caught without having been rewarded for your play.

VIP Program

The casino offers a very detailed VIP Program for its players; the 4-tiered program covers all the bases, and there is a lot of information about the program available for you to read. Here are some of the details of the program:

VIP Points are earned in the following way

  • 2 points for every £10 stake on Slots, Scratch cards, and Bingo
  • 1 point for every £10 stake for all other Casino games
  • 2.5 points for every £10 stake for Sports single bets
  • 3 points for every £10 stake for Sports multiple bets

The below table shows the overall VIP Point targets along with the minimum deposits that must be met to qualify for the VIP Programme each calendar month.

Level Deposits Points
Bronze £1,000 1,500
Silver £2,000 2,500
Gold £4,000 12,500
Platinum Invite Only Invite Only

I like that the casino has these levels broken down for you in plain sight; it is important to know where you stand regarding VIP status. When you get to each level, you receive a different set of rewards, all of which is outlined on the VIP page of the Ladbrokes website.

What is intriguing is the Platinum level, as that involves being sent to VIP events by the company. According to the site, this has included concert tickets, sporting events and other VIP events in the past. I love the idea of being rewarded with tangible goods, so this gives me more reason to strive for Platinum status.

Customer Service

I mentioned this earlier in the review, but it bears repeating: currently, Ladbrokes does not offer customer service 24 hours a day. This is truly disappointing, as it can’t cost them too much to have the extra hours covered by a skeleton staff. At any rate, if you are interested in reaching the casino for any issues you have, you can contact them via telephone, Live Chat, and email. Also, as they have land-based betting shops, if you happen to be near a location, you could always just walk in and ask about your account that way.

Would I Play at Ladbrokes?

Ever since I started in this business 20 years ago, the Ladbrokes name has been front and center, whether because of their online offering or the fact that they have been sponsoring live European sports for as far back as I can remember. For that reason alone, I have always had an affinity for the site, even though I live in a country that is on the restricted list. However, if you are lucky enough to live in a country that has access to the site for real money, then I suggest you give them a try. You won’t find a site more secure for your funds, and their casino platform provides tons of great content and so many games that you will never get bored. Add in sports betting, poker, and bingo, and you have yourself a full suite of games available to you with one single account.

If you do play on Ladbrokes, I would love your feedback; we always want the most up to date, honest information from our players so we can keep this review fresh for the next reader.

It now combines its top land-based offerings with an extremely successful online branch. Ladbrokes Casino makes use of the latest technology in the area of online gambling. With one account you can play all the different elements of the site such as casino and poker. With so many new casinos springing up, it is always beneficial to choose such a well-established and trusted casino to avoid the black sheep. In this Ladbrokes review we will be showing that there is clearly no scam going on at such an established company.

Overview of Our Ladbrokes Casino Experiences

Although Ladbrokes is synonymous with sports betting, this is no reflection on the quality of its online casino. You can enjoy downloaded and non-downloaded versions of the games on offer. The casino and poker rooms are powered mainly by Microgaming software and you have over 500 games to choose from. It also has its own fully-owned subsidiary game provider, Ash Gaming, which provides it with very decent games. There are games to suit all players such as Little Britain, Age of Gods and Beach Life. There are also table games like blackjack, roulette and 3-card brag. It has a one-of-a-kind live casino offering with the help of Evolution Gaming who ensure a unique, innovative, yet traditional and authentic experience.

The customer support offered by this casino is outstanding. Not only are there many ways to contact its desks, but it operates in many different languages. The support excels particularly in the UK, where it is faultless. Ladbrokes offers not just casino but also sports betting, poker, bingo and lotto amongst other services to make sure there is something for all. The casino is licensed to ensure it is fully compliant. The Gambling Commission, along with Gibraltar Gaming Commission make sure that everything about the casino is above board and completely fair and legal. This is most definitely a casino for the people.

Ladbrokes: Scam or Not?

As a casino that has been around for years and has been licensed by the most stringent authorities, it is safe to say that this is no Ladbrokes Casino scam site. As stated previously, this is a casino that holds licenses in UK and Gibraltar who are both companies known to apply the strictest regulations to their licensees. Furthermore, it is linked to top gaming providers such as Playtech and Microgaming, as well as NetEnt. Any casino that supplies NetEnt games is almost certainly a decent casino. It also offers a stellar customer support service worldwide.

Ladbrokes Casino uses SSL encryption technology to ensure the best protection of all personal and financial data that you pass on it. Furthermore, all of its games have been tested by a third party to make sure the RNG is 100% fair and random. As well as this, the casino and its game providers are eCOGRA certified. All of the payment methods offered by Ladbrokes are reputable and completely trustworthy. When depositing and withdrawing, you can use many of the big names from all over the world. Furthermore, this is a PayPal casino which offers you even more protection so you know your money is in safe hands.

Overview About the Offers from Ladbrokes

As you would expect from a gambling institution that has been around for so long, it has so much to offer that it’s almost overwhelming. It has the most classic and popular slots around as well as branded games such as Guns ‘n Roses and Deal or No Deal; it has a wide variety of table games for all different types of players – from classic games like roulette and blackjack, to the ever popular baccarat and lots of poker games.

It offers many jackpot games, including the well-loved Age of Gods and Jackpot Giant. The hundreds of games it offers boast exciting bonus features, high definition graphics along with a few life-changing jackpots thrown into the mix.

Online Casino

It has over 400 slot machines powered predominantly by Playtech, but there are also offerings from other great providers such as its own subsidiary Ash Gaming, NextGen, IGT, NetEnt, Realistic, Greentube and another 15 developers. These include the ever popular Age of Gods series of games as well as Foxin Wins, Cleopatra and the old favourite Rainbow Riches, to name but a few. Included in these almighty offerings, there are over 35 jackpot slots where you have the chance to win progressive jackpots that can reach millions of pounds. Set your sights on hitting the big time with Mega Jackpots: Isle o’ Plenty or the record-breaking Mega Fortune.

If you looking for one of the best live casino experiences out there today, the Ladbrokes live casino has 17 roulette games such as European Roulette, French Roulette and Immersive Roulette, powered by Evolution Gaming. You could also play on one of the 18 blackjack games with an unlimited number of tables. Further to this you can choose to play on one of the 7 baccarat tables, or spend your time on Sic Bo or Casino Hold’em. Ladbrokes certainly is special when it comes to the number and quality of games on offer in its virtual casino and live casino. Whether you are a high roller or low roller, there is something perfect for you.

Sports Betting

Ladbrokes sport is where it all began back in 1886, when it was focused on horse racing. It has certainly come a long way since then, with over 2,700 land-based betting shops to supplement it’s very successful online branch. This is a site that certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to betting markets. With over 35 sports and activities to place your bets on, there is something to cater for all tastes. It offers the favourites such as football and horse racing, but if you fancy something a little different you can place a bet on TV specials or movies. The number of markets it offers for each of its sports is pretty impressive and is more than most. There is a host of props for each event to go along with traditional markets. Some of the high profile sporting events even have dozens of betting markets.

This is a sportsbook that has plenty of features, promotions and markets. There is a ‘cash out’ option available on a number of those markets which means you can cash in your bet for a fixed amount while the event is still in play. It also offers deals such as price boosts, money back and double odds on football. The odds in comparison to other providers aren’t that great, but with markets like American Football and football, it is pretty decent. It also offers great odds for horse racing, its best and favourite market. It has great in-play betting, offering a wide range of markets. It is also simple to use and easy to find. The interface itself is great. It may not look too exciting, but it is very usable and allows you to navigate through relatively easily. This is definitely a great sportsbook that shows how much experience it brings to the table.

Poker

Ladbrokes joined the iPoker network in 2013 to expand their poker operations. It utilises quick and well-designed software. It offers pretty much everything, from classic multi-table tournaments to fast action games such as Speed Poker and Twister Poker jackpot tournaments. If you decide to come and play at Ladbrokes, you will benefit from a great welcome offer and many different promotions that are offered on a regular basis. Furthermore, it does offer a VIP program with six tiers. The benefit of this is that you can exchange your points to cash rewards and tournament tickets. It isn’t the best VIP promotion on the market, but it isn’t bad if you are a player that likes to play big and reap the benefits.

One really decent feature is the jackpot Sit N Gos. It offers a series or progressive jackpot prizes for winning multiple Sit N Gos in a row. There is also a large selection of games to choose from. You could try your hand at No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha and many others. Although this isn’t the best poker room around, it’s definitely near the top. It brings you great promotions, lots of games and top software to ensure that you enjoy a great poker experience

Bingo

Ladbrokes isn’t primarily known for Bingo, but it’s a pretty good feature that deserve a mention. The bingo website was established in 2004, so it definitely has lots of experience. It provides a great welcome bonus when you start and the experience just gets better. It offers a site built on Virtue Fusion technology which is one of the best in the business. There are a selection of 90 ball games and 75 ball games with a decent number of variants of each.

In the lobby you can see a full weeks’ worth if games in advance which means you won’t miss out and you can plan what games you want to play. There are great branded variants such as Deal or No Deal Bingo. In fact, there’s a whole section dedicated to these where you can play other TV themed games like Who Wants to be a Millionaire. It also offers multi-player bingo which has a smaller and more intimate settings for just a few players. As well as this there are networked bingo games that run across all Virtue Fusion sites. These have amazing jackpots. It is definitely a great bingo site with lots on offer for all players.

Lotto

As well as bingo, you can also bet on lotteries. This gives you fixed-odds betting options on the world’s best lotteries. Ultimately, you are betting on the outcome of the lottery. For example, if you want to bet on three numbers, Ladbrokes Lotto would offer you odds on this selection. It offers more than 35 draws each week, and you can bet on draws from around the world. You can take your pick from lotteries such as Spain’s La Primitiva, Irish Lotto, 49’s, NY Lotto and Spanish Daily Lotto to name but a few. Like other areas of their site, it offers great promotions and lots of reasons to play. This is something fun that you can play alongside the lottery if you want to double your chance and double your fun.

Ladbrokes Casino Bonus: Check Out the Offer

When choosing which casino to go with, it is important to compare the different casino bonuses. The Ladbrokes bonus definitely offers you a great option that when you stake £10, you receive £50. The numbers are great, but key question is: what about the terms and conditions? Well, as far as I can see, the terms are pretty fair and better than many others. For starters, the wagering requirement is 40-times, which is a little higher than many others out there. However, different games also have different weightings so you need to be careful.

Deposit Bonus: Stake £10 get £50
Bonus Condition: 40 times wagering requirement
Validity: All countries that you can register
Other promotions: None

As expected, most slots contribute 100% towards your wagering requirement, but not all games do. Roulette and certain variations of blackjack offer 20%, as do a number of table games such as Sic Bo, Pai Gow and Red Dog; some alternative slots have just a 10% contribution, certain blackjack variations offer just 5% and Legacy of the Wild and double up options on slots and poker don’t count at all. Although the terms are very favourable, it would be wise to read them through carefully so you know exactly what to expect.

Sportsbook has a new player offer where you bet £5 and get £20 free bets. However, there are many terms attached to this deal which need to be looked at in great detail as many types of bets aren’t eligible. The details are very specific on exactly what you can and can’t do with it. The bingo welcome offer is ‘Spend £10 and play with £40’. This is valid for seven days from registering. You also get access to the guest room for seven days. There is a two-times wagering requirement attached which is pretty standard to most bingo offers.

The poker welcome bonus is very generous at 200% up to £1,200. You also get lots of added extras such as:

  • 4 x £2,000 Freeroll tickets
  • 5 x £2 Twister Tournament tickets
  • 5 x £2 General Tournament tickets
  • 1 x £5 Cash Table ticket

Again, each section of this bonus comes with terms and conditions that need to be looked at carefully. Ladbrokes definitely isn’t shy when it comes to welcome bonuses when you compare it to other casino bonuses. It has a many different top offers for all its different areas to make sure you are made to feel very welcome.

Deposits and Payouts at the Casino

Because it is available the world over, Ladbrokes reflects this with amount of banking options it has. It has methods to suit everyone from all around the globe. There are the usual options of debit cards. You can also use eWallets such as Neteller, Skrill and PayPal; you can use as a prepaid option if you wish. As well as this you can opt for a bank transfer, use Western Union or even go directly to a Ladbrokes shop.

A minimum deposit of £5 is required for debit cards and this goes up to £10 for eWallet methods. The maximum deposit is limitless. If it is possible to do so, withdrawals should be made with the same method that you chose to deposit. When this isn’t possible it will be paid directly into your bank account. You can withdraw a minimum of £5 which is less than some other casinos. You have a limit of £30,000 with no fees attached, which isn’t bad at all. Before your first withdrawal, you will be required to provide proof of identity and payment method. However, this only needs to be done once. After this it is generally a quick process with Ladbrokes and is normally available between 3-5 days via debit cards. However, it can take only 48 hours with eWallet options.

Security and Regulation

The site has been around for many years and knows exactly what is required. This casino is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission as well as Gibraltar Gaming Commission. Further to this, it also uses various security measures to ensure your complete safety online. This consists of a high-tech SSL encryption to make sure that your personal information is held safely. It has also ensured that its Random Number Generator is regularly tested and is certified by third parties so you can rest assured that it is completely fair.

All the games provided by the casino are tested and certified by eCOGRA so you know that you are always playing on a game that has been ruled by an outside party as totally random. It has other certifications such as ESSA and Payment Reviews by Independent Auditors to prove that it is completely safe and transparent. Ladbrokes is a company that takes responsible gambling seriously. It has a Social Responsibility Board Committee that brings responsible gambling to the board table. Ladbrokes also launched the UK’s first dedicated TV ad to promote responsible gambling. On its website, there is a whole section dedicated to responsible gambling, promoting the message: ‘When the fun stops stop.’ The company is linked to Gamcare, Responsible Gambling Trust and Gambleaware, so you can be sure it always has your best interests at heart.

Customer Support

Ladbrokes is seriously good when it comes to customer support, as you would expect from a company that has survived and stayed at the top of this saturated market for so long. The service is very easy to access first of all, with a tab at the top of the page so you don’t have to look around the site. Furthermore, the customer support is offered in a wide variety of languages, which is helpful on such an international site. You can contact the help desk by telephone – of which there are UK and international numbers. You can also use the live chat as well as an email option. All of these options are available 24 hours a day. So whatever time it is, wherever you are in the world, you will be able to contact someone for assistance.

The telephone service from the UK is absolutely perfect and the only problem is that other countries may wonder why there’s isn’t quite as good. Simply put, the support is always available, in different languages, even on public holidays. This gives you great peace of mind that there is always someone they can talk to if an issue arises. The FAQ is also very helpful and you should probably look here before contacting the customer support. It offers answers to various question such as banking queries, technical issues and withdrawal and depositing questions. This is an area in which Ladbrokes really earn some top marks.

Usability of the Online Casino

This is always going to be tricky, because Ladbrokes offers so much that it needs to make it as user-friendly as possible so that users can easily find their way around the full product offering. Does it succeed? Yes, but it can look very crowded as a result. The home page is very attractive. At the top it leads you to all the different areas of the site such as: Sports, In-play, Casino, Slots, Games, Live Casino, Bingo, Poker, Lottos, Virtuals, Mobile, Exchange and The Grid. Next to this is the help and contact tabs. Below this you have another range of tabs of more general pages that include: Download & Play; Getting Started and Promotions to name a few.

When you go into the Casino tab you will see that the games are broken down into the following sections: Top Games, New Games, Slots, Movies & TV, Jackpots, Table & Cards, Video Poker, Casual Games and All Games. As well as this there is a search function. Although there is a lot to find on the site, this casino makes sure that you get to where you want as quickly and as easily as possible. It can look a bit hectic at times, but this is because it has so much on offer.

Ladbrokes App: Many Different Slots

No Ladbrokes review would be complete without looking at gaming on the go, so what about its mobile app? Mobile casinos are super competitive now, but can this old dog learn new tricks? Well, of course it can. This Ladbrokes app differs to many of its competitors in that you don’t have to install anything if you don’t want. You simply head over to their website and it just adjusts to suit your screen. When you log in, you will find that it has an intuitive and user-friendly interface with all the important features in the front at the centre, so it’s clear to use. You can do whatever you want at the tap of the screen. There are over 250 slots that are available to play on the go. These can be accessed directly via the browser or via the downloaded app if you wish. The app is available for Android and iOS, although Window and Blackberry aren’t supported at this moment in time.

The games on the mobile come from many of the providers, mainly from Playtech, but others from NextGen, IGT and Barcrest. You can play on classics such as Rainbow Riches amongst others. As well as slots you can play blackjack, roulette and others including jackpot games such as Frankie Dettori’s Roulette. You can access pretty much anything you want on mobile which includes live casino, sportsbook, bingo and lotto as well. Whatever you want as a Ladbrokes customer you can play on the go. It’s fair to say that this old dog is definitely giving those younger pups a run for their money when it comes to good mobile offers.

Conclusion: Online Casino Giant with an Evolving Offer

There is a reason why Ladbrokes has stayed at the top of the tree for so long. It has spent a long time growing and evolving, so it combines the benefits of being a well-established old casino with new technologies and games so it can keep up with the youngsters, making it one of the top online casinos around today. Their customer support has a great reputation and is contactable 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, every single day of the year.

The banking methods are some of the most varied in the industry, with options for everyone from around the globe. It also has the assurance of being a PayPal casino. It offers many decent welcome packages for all of its products with fair terms and conditions. Then there’s the mobile casino. This offers everything you could want from Ladbrokes at the touch of your fingertips.

Most importantly though, is the fact that it is licensed and regulated to a high standard and has been certified by some of the most important safety and regulatory bodies in the industry. It has licenses to provide games to most countries and offers support and games in many different languages. As this Ladbrokes review has shown, it offers a fantastic online casino that is safe and easy to use.

Ladbrokes is a London-based bookmaker set up at the end of the 19th century, making it one of the oldest-established bookies. Ladbrokes is one of the world leaders in the betting industry, with more than 2,700 betting outlets in the UK, Ireland, Spain and Belgium as well as more than one million online customers.

The sports betting activities of Ladbrokes are run by the subsidiary Ladbrokes International PLC and Ladbrokes Sportsbook LP,  located in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. According to the company’s own information, there are about 15,000 employees working on the comprehensive sports betting and entertainment programmes.

The biggest market is in the UK, where it makes a £116 million operating profit, from betting primarily on football, horse and greyhound racing as well as other sports and on the machines. Their digital presence is increasing all the time with mobile accounting for about 70% of the sportsbook stakes. So let’s take a look at what you can get if you signed up to get the Ladbrokes bonus.

The results of the OpenOdds Ladbrokes bookmaker review:

Horse racing was Ladbrokes’ first love and it is still a key part of the business, with races featured prominently on the website. At Ladbrokes, you can bet on about 30 sports with football, cricket, tennis, golf and rugby union being the main sports. You can also gamble on more minor sports such as rugby league, darts, speedway or sailing, so it’s a great site for gamblers following niche sports or events. It has a very British feel about it because you can also have a wager on by-elections, who will be the next Labour leader, the next General Election and the London Mayoral Election. It offers a comprehensive range, with casino games, slots, bingo, poker and lottos as well as sports betting.

On the whole, our Ladbrokes review shows the company is competing well with the other big names and, with a few adjustments, it could go higher up the scoreboard, but for now an overall Ladbrokes rating of 88/100 is fair. Some of the competitors offer better odds and more eye-catching promotions than the Ladbrokes bonus, but we still think that this bookie is worth a closer look.

Erfahrungen mit Ladbrokes: Strengths of this UK Bookie

  • Easy sign up process.
  • Very large variety of sports and other events on offer.
  • Fantastic odds and bets offered.
  • Live betting is available on the site.

Ladbrokes: OpenOdds’ comprehensive review of this traditional British firm

In our Ladbrokes sportsbook review, the OddsBook team looked thoroughly at the site and how it compared to the other major brands. For our Ladbrokes review, it had to prove itself as an online bookmaker in each of these 10 categories:

01.Bonuses:Definitely unique

Ladbrokes' Bonus Program8/10 Punkte

  • Welcome bonus available
  • Free bet up to £50
  • Simply sign up and enter promo code
  • Full details available on site
  • Minimum odds of 1.5

Yes, there is a new customer bonus at Ladbrokes, which in the current climate is quite competitive. After registering as a new customer, enter the Ladbrokes bonus and the bookie will match the first bet with a free bet up to £50. The first bet needs odds of 1/2 or more to qualify and it must be a single bet. Your free bet stake is not returned if the free one wins. Other firms are offering 100% bonuses for up to £100 which makes Ladbrokes offer seem less generous.

02.Customer services:Exactly what we hoped they would offer

Ladbrokes' Customer Services8/10 Punkte

  • Helpful, friendly staff
  • Live chat, phone and e-mail
  • Comprehensive FAQ available
  • Guaranteed response in 48 hours

The contact options from Ladbrokes are as competent and prompt as you would expect from a bookmaker as big as this. The most convenient way to get in touch is through the online chat support, as you can expect an immediate response and you can also see how many people are waiting to be attended by an agent. There is also a Ladbrokes phone number available at any time, or email which, of course, takes a little longer. Ladbrokes promises to reply to emails in 48 hours or less, and while this is a long period of time for an industry as fast-paced as betting, Ladbrokes rarely takes the full period to get back to you. As a first port of call, you can look at the frequently asked questions, as you may find your answer here without having to contact anyone. As expected from a major player, customer service is good with a prompt and efficient service.

03.Sports covered:Exceptional!

Ladbrokes' Sports Coverage8/10 Punkte

  • Large variety of sports
  • Traditional sports covered
  • Plenty of niche sports available
  • Strong focus on football and horse racing
  • Something for everyone

Many top bookmakers are easily recognised by their comprehensive bet offer. This is exactly the case with Ladbrokes. Of course, horse racing and football are the primary sports within the site, but they’re closely followed by others including rugby league and cricket. Horse races and greyhound races originate from England and, to this day, still create a betting fever which can seldom be experienced elsewhere. Certainly Ladbrokes horse racing coverage is extremely thorough. As far as Ladbroke football bets are concerned, the sportsbook is excellently equipped, including matches from the lower leagues around the world. There are a lot of special bets which can turn the most lacklustre football match into an exciting betting affair.

04.Payment methods:Numerous payment methods, but little comparison

Ladbrokes' Payment Methods8/10 Punkte

  • Credit and debit cards accepted
  • Industry standard methods
  • Visa, MasterCard and Maestro
  • Number of e-wallets available

Ladbrokes’ deposit & withdrawal systems seem industry standard, as they take most major credit and debit cards including MasterCard, Maestro, Visa Debit, Visa Credit and Visa Electron. The minimum deposit and withdrawal on Ladbrokes is £5, which is lower than some of the others. Deposits are processed instantly but withdrawals can take the usual three to five working days. The transfer is the same, using MasterCard Secure and Visa Verified. You can also pay through Skrill, PayPal or Neteller, where withdrawals take at least six hours to go through, or via bank transfer which can take up to five days for deposit & withdrawal. It is also possible to put money in or take cash out of your account at the Ladbrokes shops.

05.Security: Is Ladbrokes safe?

How safe is Ladbrokes?9/10 Punkte

  • Comprehensive security system
  • Minimizes gambling risks
  • Compliance department to counteract fraud
  • No need to worry about safety

Whilst offering great features, we still need to answer the crucial question: is Ladbrokes safe? Ladbrokes has a comprehensive security system, but most of the information is on the corporate website rather than the gaming one, so it’s not as easily seen as some of its rivals. Ladbrokes has a comprehensive cyber security system which is based on the UK government’s 10 steps to Cyber Security. It is training staff to minimise risk as well as developing its IT monitoring and security systems. There’s also a compliance department to deal with fraud detection and corruption monitoring. This department also works with global banks, police authorities, crime units and Interpol. Customers and employees can also call the Integrity Line free phone service where concerns about corporate activities, criminal activities or non-compliance with policies can be confidentially reported.

The website sections “Information we may collect from you" and “Accuracy and access to information" are very interesting. Such a helpful tool is a rarity among other bookmakers.

06.Betting odds:Just below the industry average

How good are Ladbrokes' odds?8/10 Punkte

  • Betting odds can be lower than other bookies
  • Not much in it
  • Still very competitive odds
  • Rewards for loyalty

The betting odds offered by Ladbrokes can be lower than other top bookmakers. This is not to say that customers at Ladbrokes are being ripped off, but there are slightly better prices available elsewhere. There isn’t a lot in it though. That said, Ladbrokes does have The Grid, where members have betting benefits and offers, which is also available on mobile devices. It’s like Ladbrokes’ loyalty card, available in the betting shops and for online use. This is a great incentive to stay faithful to Ladbrokes because these rewards can make up for the slightly lower odds on some events.

07.User-friendliness:A huge bet offer requires special organisation.

How easy is Ladbrokes to use?8/10 Punkte

  • Website is a bit cluttered
  • Logical and easy after a while
  • Placing bets is a breeze
  • App available for iOS and Android

Some sports betting novices have complained that Ladbrokes’ website is not as user-friendly as others. The OpenOdds team has had more positive experiences, and the problem could be that the website is cluttered. Ladbrokes is trying to cram so many sports, other games and promotions onto the website, that it looks very busy. However, with such a large bet offer selection, it would be almost impossible to be presented in any other way. After a while of getting used to it, it becomes logical and the user-friendliness becomes apparent. As far as placing bets is concerned, novices should not have any issues. From what we found, everything is transparent and clearly explained. It is also quick and easy to use. The Ladbrokes app is also clear to follow, which means you can follow your bets or place a bet from your mobile or tablet.

08.In-play product:Minor improvements could get Ladbrokes top marks

Ladbrokes' Live Betting Service9/10 Punkte

  • In-play option available
  • Variety of markets on offer
  • Room to improve
  • Bet as the action unfolds

The in-play offer is pretty comprehensive, with a long list of sports on offer each day, although the variety of events could be improved. That said, it’s always possible to bet on popular sports types such as football and tennis. As far as these two are concerned, there is a rather extensive in-play product, as well as live streaming on major competitions, so you can watch many games for free through your Ladbrokes account instead of on illegal video channels.

For reference, other bookmakers offer double the amount of sports for in-play betting. William Hill has all the sports Dafabet offers, plus volleyball, ice hockey, table tennis and cricket. That said, the fact that Dafabet has an in-play option at all is a good sign and a good way to attract and keep bettors coming back.

09.Other products:Financial bets & poker are also something for sports bettors!

What else does Ladbrokes have to offer?8/10 Punkte

  • Can even gamble on politics
  • Plenty of entertainment bets
  • Virtual casino on offer
  • Plenty of e-sport coverage

Ladbrokes is so much more than a sportsbook. As well as a comprehensive range of sports, you can gamble on politics, the outcome of TV programmes such as X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing, William and Kate’s third baby, or who will be the next Pope.

Ladbrokes also has a virtual casino and offers popular games like slots, Ladbrokes bingo, poker and lotteries. There’s even a live Ladbrokes casino to add to the thrill as you can join in live games such as roulette, blackjack or poker. Our Ladbrokes review shows it is one of the best sites for sports betting and games, simply because it appears to have covered everything.

Bet on eSports with Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes is a well-known choice for those who like to bet on eSports, particularly on games such as LoL and CS:GO. The bookmaker has a long-established reputation that dates back over 100 years, which means that it can be considered as one of the CSGO betting sites to be trusted by fans.

What’s on offer in terms of eSports games at Ladbrokes? You won’t find it difficult to find something that is up your street, as there is lots on offer. Choose from League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and Starcraft 2. When the time comes to place a bet on the game of your choice, you can pick the odds format that suits you best. Go for decimal, in which the team most likely to win is given a smaller number, and your payout will be lined up in accordance with that number. You can also access fractional odds at Ladbrokes, which many customers in the UK and Ireland are more familiar with.

Ladbrokes offers a great welcome offer that can be used for betting on eSports games. All you have to do is sign up as a new member at the Ladbrokes registration page, then make your first deposit. When you do that, the bookmaker will double what you have put in. The maximum deposit for this offer is £50 – and it’s great that the minimum is only £5, less than many other providers ask for. Use the bonus code F50 in the promotions section to grab all that cash.

10.Bet limits:High rollers are welcome, but sure bettors have to be careful!

Ladbrokes' Betting Limits8/10 Punkte

  • High general limits
  • Limits are sport dependent
  • Can always check for maximums
  • Endorses responsible gambling

According to our Ladbrokes experiences, this bookmaker is quite compatible with the special desires of high rollers. A high limit in the range per bet can be expected, but Ladbrokes drastically lowers the betting limit where underdog bets are concerned. As a rule of thumb, the bet limits for local sports types and leagues are set generously higher with this British bookmaker when compared to, for example, leagues or sports types that are not as popular in the UK.

One major positive is the fact that the Ladbrokes customer service is easy to talk to and a high bet limit can be reached in individual cases by contacting Ladbrokes. It doesn’t hurt (financially) to ask! Sure bettors have to be careful at Ladbrokes, according to the bookmaker’s own information, as such behaviour can quickly result in additional limitations.

Our Verdict of Ladbrokes:A staple British bookmaker

Ladbrokes is one of the biggest names in the world of bookmakers and is competing well, both online and with its physical shops. Gamblers can enjoy a wide range of sports, including minor British events, as well as many games and a live casino. Security and safety are paramount and promotions can be generous, especially for members of The Grid. Overall, our Ladbrokes review is favourable, as the bookie offers a great service, although new customers may find the website difficult to navigate at first, simply because there is so much information on it. It is one of the hands down and it has a nice Ladbrokes bonus too, but there is always room for improvement.

One of the most well-known names in the UK gambling market is Ladbrokes. But, just because an online sportsbook and casino are well known, does it mean they offer a top-notch product? Well, that’s what we set out to uncover in our Ladbrokes review. In the next few sections, our team of experts scoured every inch of the Ladbrokes sportsbook, casino, and company to see if they lived up to the hype.

If you’re curious whether or not Ladbrokes is right for you, we highly recommend you keep reading on. We’ll take a thorough look at the sportsbook, what sports you can bet on if they’re in tune with the new esports craze, the quality of the user interface, the casino side of the business, banking, promotions, and finally the quality of their customer service. Basically, we are going to look at everything to give you the most accurate picture of what to expect if you choose to give Ladbrokes a try.

The Sportsbook

As you might guess, our main focus on all of our reviews of any site is the sportsbook. We want to know what kind of betting action they offer, the quality of that betting action, and the ease at which they allow us to make our bets. When we first got to the homepage of Ladbroke’s sportsbook, it was a bit overwhelming, to say the least. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Well, it’s going to come down to your personal preference. Let us explain.

When we got to the homepage, it was very “busy.” Basically, there were tons of bet options, big banners, and hundreds of options to choose from. If you’re someone who loves diving headfirst into sports betting and you aren’t overwhelmed by a ton of options, you might be a big fan of the Ladbrokes layout. But, if you’re a casual bettor who likes to take things at your own pace, this might seem like a lot all at once.

Regarding the sports, you can bet on (which we will cover more in depth in the next section), the list was massive. We had a feeling this would be the case when we saw the sheer number of options available on the sportsbook homepage. If our eyes didn’t fail us, Ladbrokes had 37 or 38 different sports or entertainment categories that you could bet on. As we also suspected, within each of these you had a ton of different types of bets that you could place as well.

If you’re a serious sports bettor who doesn’t mind a cluttered interface in trade for the ultimate in betting flexibility, you’re going to like the Ladbrokes mobile betting platform. Why did we say mobile betting platform? Well, one perk that Ladbrokes does have are physical sportsbook locations that you can bet from, deposit at, or get your withdrawals. Having a brick and mortar option attached to the mobile site is pretty awesome.

We’re not sure exactly how many brick and mortar locations they have, but we did a quick test search around Camden Town and Regent’s Park in London, and we found 10 different locations that popped up in a small radius. This is pretty awesome in case you like to handle some of your banking or business in person while still having the conveniences of being able to bet online.

We’ll get into this more in a later section, but we did want to mention that Ladbrokes had one of the most extensive promotions and bonus offering sections that we’ve seen thus far. When we last looked, they had 12 different offers live that were quality offers. We’ll break these down for you in the Bonuses and Promotions section at the bottom of this page.

Overall, there were some things that we liked and some things that we weren’t too fond of with the Ladbrokes sportsbook. We absolutely loved the betting options and the promotions available for a lot of different sports. We also love that they are properly licensed (safe), and they have brick and mortar locations where you can handle all of your business or talk to a real person if you are having a problem with the mobile betting.

What we weren’t huge fans of was the busyness of the interface and the lack of a few options that would make things a little easier to navigate for the casual fan. During our User Interface section below, we will break down exactly what we’d like to see changed. It’s nothing major, but a few things that would make the experience a lot better.

The bottom line is that the quality of Ladbrokes sportsbook is going to be dependent on what you’re looking for. If you’re easily flustered or overwhelmed by busy interfaces, you probably aren’t going to like it here. If you’re okay with the busyness of the interface (or maybe you even like it) and you’re looking for a lot of betting options, great promotions, and the backing of brick and mortar locations, Ladbrokes is probably a good fit for you.

We’re going to look at all of this way more in-depth in the coming sections.

Sports You Can Bet On

Where else on the internet can you bet on Japanese, Korean, Mexican, and American baseball? Honestly, we haven’t seen action on any of those leagues except MLB before. We share that little tidbit to set the tone for this section of our Ladbrokes review. The shiny gold medal for the most sports offered that you can bet on easily goes to Ladbrokes. Not only do they have a ton of different sports you can bet on, but they also have a lot of TV, movie, music, and other forms of entertainment that you can wager on.

Let’s take a look at all of the different sports and entertainment categories that you can wager on at Ladbrokes sportsbook.

  • American Football
  • Aussie Rules
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Christmas Specials
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Esports
  • Football
  • Formula 1
  • Futsal
  • GAA Gaelic Football
  • GAA Hurling
  • Golf
  • Greyhound Racing
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Ice Hockey
  • Motor Cycling
  • Motor Sports
  • Movies
  • Music
  • Netball
  • Politics
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Speedway
  • TV Specials
  • Tennis
  • Topical Accas
  • UFC/MMA
  • Virtual Sports
  • Volleyball
  • Winter Sports

As you can see, the list is pretty massive. And, within each of these individual sports or entertainment categories, you’ll find a further breakdown of different leagues and organizations that you can bet on. It’s honestly some of the best market coverage that we’ve seen in a long time.

Esports Coverage

Ladbrokes offers a decent amount of action on esports tournaments and matches. While it was unclear how many different games they offer action on because they only post what they have action available for, they did have action up for several of the biggest games offered. We say bets available for LoL, CS:GO, and DOTA. It’s quite possible that they offer action on other esports games, but it’s tough to see because they appear to only list the upcoming tournaments and don’t have blank placeholders for each game they offer action on. We will check back on this during our next review update and let you know the verdict.

Within each game and tournament, the only real options were the ability to bet on winners. Some online sportsbooks offer you the ability to bet on individual elements of each match, but that was not the case here. Typically, we only see that with specialty esports betting sites, so it’s not something that we were completely shocked by.

If you’re a casual esports bettor, Ladbrokes looks like it’s going to be plenty to cover your esports betting action.

User Interface

Alrighty, so, this is where we’re going to take the little kid gloves and get down and dirty. We’re just kidding; it’s not going to be that bad, but we do have a few things that we’d like to see improved upon with the Ladbrokes interface.

First, let’s start with the things that we liked. The betting slip is easy to use and simple to make changes on. You can see all of your bets, and you have the option to either turn them into a parlay (multiples bet) or leave them as individual bets. You can bet individual bets and parlays in the same transaction which is pretty cool. A lot of sports betting sites require you to bet one or the other but certainly not both at the same time.

Additionally, if the odds change while you’re waiting to make your bet, it will let you know automatically and not wait until you’re going to click the submit button. This is a pretty nice feature especially if you’re building a parlay and counting on particular odds. With most sites, you don’t find out the odds have changed until you click the submit bet button only to find out that things have changed.

We also like the fact that you can set what you want your Ladbrokes homepage is. That way, whenever you come to the book, it will automatically take you where you want to go. Your only options are default homepage, football, or horse racing, but it’s still a nice touch. This option is available in the top right of the screen by clicking on the gear icon and selecting your choice.

Now, let’s talk about the things that we really weren’t big fans of. Keep in mind that these are only our personal preferences and they may be things that you enjoy. The only real way to get a feel for an online sportsbook and their user interface is to click over and check out the site yourself. It won’t take you long to figure out if the site is for you or not.

The overall feel of the Ladbroke’s betting portal was pretty overwhelming. It feels almost as if they took the entire huge board at your local sportsbook, doubled it in size, and then tried to fit it all on one screen. It’s a lot of numbers coming at you fast. We’re pretty big fans of clean simplicity, and this just doesn’t fit with that mold.

That being said, it’s not unusable by any means. It just means that the learning curve is going to be a little steeper the first few times you go to the site. The one thing we do like in response to this is that they site utilizes breadcrumbs at the top of the page, so if you happen to get lost somewhere you can easily find your way back to where you stared. This might seem like a small detail, but it is one that a lot of other sportsbooks online should really look into employing. Of course, they could just make it much less challenging to get lost.

Ladbrokes does allow you to change all of the odds between fraction and decimal, but for some reason, they don’t give you the option of switching to American odds. We get it that the market they serve is not in the US, but some people still prefer to use those odds. Would it be so hard to at least have the option available in case anyone wants to use it?

The last thing that made everything a bit confusing for us was the number of menus they had all throughout the site. There was the A to Z sports menu that opens as a tab on the left, the site section menu at the top of the screen, the popular sports to be on the menu below that, and then the different leagues menu below that. Additionally, there were other bets to the right of that, a huge scrolling carousel of bets and promos at the top, and links to their casino section on the far right of the page.

Basically, it was just a lot. We would love to see them trim things down a bit and simplify the layout. Again, some of you are probably going to love the busy and fast-paced layout, but for us, it was just a little much. The interface at Ladbrokes was a miss for us with some moments of awesome sprinkled in there.

The Casino

The casino at Ladbrokes is equally as extensive as their sportsbook offerings. They’ve got a solid collection of casino games, slots, Bingo, poker, lotto, virtual games, and even a live dealer casino area. The games were all high quality, and several of them were branded games that you would normally see in a brick and mortar casino. We mean games like The Dark Knight slots, Batman slots, Buffalo Blitz, and a whole lot more.

The site also had some sizeable online jackpots reaching into the several hundred thousand pounds. Who wouldn’t like scoring a couple hundred thousand bucks from the comfort of their own home? We know we would.

The live dealer casino was also a nice touch with action in roulette, blackjack, baccarat, hi-lo, and hold’em. As you might expect, the dealers were easy on the eyes (attractive), so if that is something you’re looking for they’ve got you taken care of.

Overall

The casino is a nice experience at Ladbrokes. They have a ton of games to choose from, some great jackpots, and the interface/game quality is very high. The interface is much better laid out then what we ran into with the sportsbook and gives off a much more inviting vibe. If you’re looking for a new casino home and you want extensive choices and quality games, you’ll probably be a pretty big fan of the Ladbrokes set up.

As a supplementary casino experience to someone who’s main squeeze online is sports betting, it is way more than adequate. Basically, if you like to sports bet but also want to be able to spin off some money when you feel the need, you’ll be more than pleased with the offerings here. Just to be clear, the casino would be awesome by itself if there were no sportsbook as well. We’re just saying that it covers the supplementary role well, and then exceed the standalone role.

Deposit Methods

Bonuses and Promotions

One of the most extensive sections of our Ladbrokes review was their bonuses and promotions. They had a ton of great little offerings for new and existing bettors that we wanted to cover. Keep in mind that these promotions probably change often, so don’t be upset if you don’t see any of the ones listed below when you get to the site. We’ll do our best to keep them as up to date as possible. What is nice is that it seems from what we hear that Ladbrokes always has an extensive list of promotions going, so there will always be something awesome for you to take advantage of.

Let’s take a look at some of the promotions they currently have going.

Bet £5 and get £20 in free bets

This is an offer for new customers and does require a promo code that you can find on their promotions page. There are some limitations, but basically, if you make a £5 bet, you’re going to get 4 free £5 bets to make elsewhere.

10% Cashback on Tennis Bets

For all of your tennis losses between Monday and Thursday, Ladbrokes will kick you back 10%. Hopefully, this isn’t a promotion you need to take advantage of (because you’re winning), but it’s nice to know you’re going to get something back if you have a rough week.

Money Back on All Losers as a Free Bet

This is a pretty cool promotion that they seem to run on random games from time to time. Basically, if you make a particular bet on an upcoming football game, they will give you your bet back as a free bet if you happen to lose. So, as we understand it, you really can’t lose. If your bet wins, you win! If your bet loses, you get another free £10 bet to use to try and get even.

Free Odds Boost on the Sport of Your Choice

The site will let you power up the odds on the sports of your choice meaning you’ll be in line to get a better payout than you should (value). Of course, there are limitations on this regarding the amount you can bet and how often you can use it (once per day), but it’s still free value that you really should be taking advantage of.

Virtual Betting £10 Match Bet

If you’ve never tried the virtual racing before, it is pretty fun. You watch virtual horse, dog, or car races and try and pick a winner. The computer uses randomization to give you the same chances you have to win in a real race (unless you’re able to handicap dogs, horses, or cars effectively). But, regardless, this promotion is one you should at least take advantage of once.

Ladbrokes will match your first virtual racing bet up to £10 with another £10 free bet that is valid for three days. It’s free money; why not take advantage of it?

These were just some of the promotions that Ladbrokes was offering the last time we updated this review. We highly recommend you check out their promotions page for their most current and complete listing as well as their terms and conditions that you should definitely read before taking advantage of a promotion. Overall, though, this was a pretty solid offering in the promotions department.

We didn’t see any sort of VIP rewards program, though, which would have been nice to see. We always like to see some sort of program that rewards people for the volume of their betting. The more you bet, the more you should get in our book.

That being said, there were some pretty awesome one-off promotions that you should really look into taking advantage of.

Customer Service

The fact that you can walk into a brick and mortar location should be game over enough when it comes to customer service. There are very few online or mobile betting platforms that can stake that claim. With Ladbroke’s shops, you can go in and talk to someone if you ever have an issue which is a great last resort if you need it.

But, what about the customer service options if you don’t want to leave your house or you don’t live anywhere close to one of the shops? Well, let’s take a look.

First, the site has a comprehensive FAQ section that seems to be pretty awesome when it comes to answering the most common of questions. If you have the need for something bigger, though, they look to have chat support, social media support (Twitter), and the ability to call in to get some help (and place bets). We tested out the live chat function, and we were able to chat with someone in about 5 seconds which was pretty awesome.

They didn’t specifically state the hours of their customer service, but we would be shocked if it weren’t 24/7/365. With a company of this size and brick and mortar locations, they most certainly probably have options open for you around the clock. Hopefully, you don’t need the help, but it’s there if you happen to need it.

Ladbrokes casino is one of the biggest betting institutions in the UK alone and is known worldwide for their Sportsbetting and Poker portal. The website does not only include useful information throughout but does also have a dedicated Self Help section where many queries are answered immediately. Players can also contact a customer representative via Live Chat, telephone and email for any type of query. Telephone service from within the UK is outstanding and perhaps the only down point is that there is only one number for the rest of the world leaving the player to ponder on the level of non UK support satisfaction. Having said that the customer support globally is unparalleled and come second to none. There is also a wide range of emails that the player can contact depending on the type of their query.

Ladbrokes Online Betting Reviewed

Traditions may not be what they were, but it’s always nice to get back to those good old-fashioned values on which we used to rely. Such as betting with a decent bookmaker, for instance. Ladbrokes were, are (and likely always will be) an example of what the bookies should offer to the punter. As a new customer, you will be treated to a great welcome bonus right after you register, a gesture not many of the new sportsbooks do. Frankly, Ladbrokes’ odds and markets are not necessarily exceptional (excluding Price Boosts), but there are extra features that make them outstanding, such as the Stats & Result Centre and the Sports News section.

How to Take Advantage of This Offer

It’s fair to say that in terms of bonuses, Ladbrokes opted to go for quantity rather than quality. We are not sure it is the perfect policy but then again we may just be greedy but it surely makes it a lot more difficult for customers to spot the welcome bonus. Here we present it to you and show you how to claim it.

It’s not rocket science to claim and use the Ladbrokes sign-up bonus. The Free Bet token is awarded instantly after your initial bet. All you need to remember is to enter the code correctly (20FREE) upon registration and keep in mind the wagering terms which, in this case, are very simple. You have to place your first bet at odds of over 1.5, which we consider to be very reasonable. In addition, you have only four days to claim your bonus – so we would recommend doing it quick!

One of the best things about Ladbrokes sports betting is their excellent price boosts! Many online betting sites concentrate on just football, however, Ladbrokes cater for a much larger audience. That doesn’t mean however that football fans are left out, far from it! If we look at recent European football games, Ladbrokes had an amazing 13 price boosts in effect for a Champions League night.

The odds you get, means Ladbrokes offer some of the most competitive odds in the online world, when you combine this with the great welcome offer, there is no doubt that Ladbrokes remain a key player in the world of online sports betting.

Beside the permanent bonus offers, at Ladbrokes’ promotions hub you will always find an ongoing offer. It is updated on daily basis and usually is an odds boost. You may also get an additional Free Bet for a specific event and there are regular price boosts for the upcoming football games. The bookie has really upped their game in this area of late and there is always a great selections of promotions to choose from.

Bet Calculator, Stats, Results Centre and Much More!

Ladbroke’s justifies its reputation as one of the best through its markets and features offering. There will always be doubters, but even they cannot question the bookmaker in this area. Take their range of markets offered for instance, there are dozens of different sports, TV shows and various events that you can bet on.

The most popular of them, such as football and horse racing offer you hundreds additional options to place a bet, making your choice practically enormous. A better part of the markets in question are also accessible on the mobile app, for which we’ve prepared a special review.

Something that you surely won’t find at every betting site is a Bet Exchange platform. This innovation is present at Ladbrokes and takes betting on sports to another level. You will be able to lay and back bets for thousands of constantly evolving markets, giving your wheeler-and-dealer side much greater freedom. Only the exchange platform at Betfair can compete with this. In-play betting, on the other hand, is a must-have feature for a leading bookmakers. Being confident they actually are the best, Ladbrokes unsurprisingly offer it in combination with live broadcasting for events.

A huge part of the bets offered are available for live betting, too. The live console also includes video coverage and in order to get access to it, your account balance simply has to be funded. The overall impression of the Ladbrokes features supply is good. At their website you’ll find a number of useful tools that will help you figure out the right bet, such as a Bet Calculator, Stats and Results Centre and a Sports News section.

Can I Use Payment Options like Skrill at Ladbrokes?

Both in and out transactions run fast and smoothly at Ladbrokes. Check the table below for the full list of deposit methods. As for the deposit limits, they are flexible. It’s up to you to decide if you want to increase or decrease them. Payout limits are set higher than your probable winnings (we hope you will prove us wrong:).

Just for the record: the maximum win for a single bet on horse racing and football is a million pound, £500K for tennis and cricket, and £250K on snooker. Let’s say you’ve won a sum that makes you happy and you would like to withdraw it. Basically you should use the same payment method for the withdrawal you’ve used when deposited.

The times for the transactions are as follows: Bank cards; 3-5 days, PayPal; 6 hours, Skrill; 6 hours, Neteller; 6 hours, Western Union; 1-5 days. If you’ve deposited via Ukash, then you can withdraw your winnings but there is a charge for doing so.

Ladbrokes Online Sportsbook Help & Support

The sign of a great company is how well they treat their customers, I am sure that like us you have experienced companies who are really friendly when they are selling you something but the attitude changes when you have a problem. This has not been our experience at Ladbrokes we are delighted to say.

Ladbrokes have a great Frequently Asked Question section (FAQ) which is very detailed and covers a large selection of topics and scenarios. Although in general we are a little too impatient with self serving ourselves (it’s a bit like reading a manual for a gadget we have just bought – it rarely happens) but it was very logical and easy to follow. Topics include; Getting started, Exchange betting, account, payments, sports betting help and rules, mobile, retail, racecourse bets and security as well as offering help on other Ladbrokes services such as poker, vegas, casino and bingo just to name a few.

The level of detail and information contained in the sections is really good, I particularly liked the ‘Betting Terminology’ section which is a comprehensive list of all the common (and some uncommon) terms you hear in betting. This is great for ‘noobs’ and may even come in useful for the more experienced players. they say a day without learning is a day wasted so we are quite pleased to now understand ‘Tattersalls’ Rule 4 (C)’.

If self service is not for you then you may take advantage of live chat. We have used the live-chat facility for Ladbrokes a few times before and have not had any issues but at the time of writing this review the system was down and we received a “Customer Support is currently unavailable, please try again shortly” message. We tried for well over an hour and half until one of our team suggested that we try logging in, we did so and received an answer straight away! Although this wasn’t a huge problem, if I was a potential customer and had a query before signing up then this would definitely make me consider another operator.

Email enquiries are easy to make using the online ‘contact us’ section and previous queries have been answered in a couple of hours, so whilst not as quick as the live chat system, we do sometimes prefer this medium if the queries are long and detailed.

You can also call Ladbrokes using a Freephone number. What we really like about the telephone numbers are they are unique for the different sports, as we hate it when we are given a central number and are then passed from ‘pillar to post’ till we eventually get help. That was not the case and our call was answered within 2 minutes and dealt with promptly and politely. Ladbrokes also give the opportunity for you to use ‘snail mail’ and write into them.

Ladbrokes History – a Trusted Name Since 1886

The name Ladbrokes and betting go hand in hand and you can trace the company’s roots back to 1886. The name Ladbrokes actually comes from Arthur Bendir who named the company after seeing a signpost for ‘Ladbroke Hall’. Ladbrokes acquired their first shop in 1962. Contrary to popular belief, bookmakers don’t always win and indeed in 1963 a run of results on the last day of the season caused Ladbrokes to lose more than £1 million. That year Ladbrokes became the first bookmaker to accept bets on politics and this time it went to plan and the Conservative Party leadership contest earned the company a profit of £1,400.

In 1967 the company issued shares for the first time on the London Stock Exchange. The initial offering of shares at 10 shillings per share was massively oversubscribed with more than £60 million pounds worth of applications.

In 1986 the UK government relaxed restrictions on retail betting and for the first time bookmakers were allowed to show live coverage of sports events and encourage customers to stay longer in their shops by offering drinks and making the premises more comfortable. Ladbrokes teamed up with rivals William Hill and Coral to introduce Satellite Information Services (SIS) which showed horse and greyhound racing directly into the betting shops.

In 1989 the Ladbrokes group had profits of more than £300 million and this marked 20 years of unbroken profit growth. In 1994 the National Lottery was introduced and to restrict the impact to traditional bookmakers the laws surrounding retail establishments were again relaxed. For the first time they were allowed to open on Sundays, display events and prices in the windows of their shops, advertise, increase their food and drinks selection, use any size TV screens and introduce slot machines.

In late 2016 Ladbrokes merged with Coral to form the Ladbrokes Coral Group, a FTSE 100 company that is now listed on the stock exchange. As part of the deal they sold 320 betting shops to competitors in order to stop them from dominating the market. This was a notable move as it means that instead of competing against each other, Ladbrokes and Coral will work together in order to better their service in the online betting age.

Why Does Ladbrokes Deserve the “B+” Grade?

Ladbrokes totally deserve their B+ rating as they rank pretty well on every key criteria we analyse. Some may call them Old-School, but Old-School is not a bad word in our vocabulary. We especially like their football coupons, as it’s not a very common thing to find a well-organised football betting slips at those new poshy sportsbooks. Ladbrokes on the other hand know what the real punters want, and they give it to them.

Another highlight is their welcome bonus. As we mentioned in the beginning of this review we are thrilled by their ‘Stats & Results Centre’. It’s not just because of the data collected (pretty useful anyway), but the way this data is put at the punter’s favour. Ladbroke’s Predictor is a software that checks the statistics and shows the percentage probabilities for the possible outcome of a certain event. This estimate is based solely on the game history two football teams have for example, but yet it’s a very, very useful feature in our opinion. We wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t notice some… well, not necessarily disadvantages… let’s call them imperfections.

First of all: the welcome bonus is one of the simplest and best offers over the internet when it comes to sports book initial bonuses, but the number of regular promotions can always be improved. The second pitfall we’ve detected is the chat support can be a little unreliable.

Technical issues arise from time to time everywhere, but it’s a bit annoying not to be able to contact support team the way you want to. We won’t be to harsh at the end. We like Ladbrokes, they are a very good bookmaker, just a step away from being the best.

Ladbrokes may be the oldest bookmaker in business today. Established all the way back in the 19th century, the bookie is a pioneer for nearly everything sports betting related. Ladbrokes has grown tremendously since their inception. They operate over 27,000 betting shops around the globe and have over 14,000 employees.

The betting company was founded all the way back in 1886 by Mr. Schwind and Pennington. They changed the name to Ladbrokes in 1902 after Arthur Bendir came on board and moved their bookmaking operations to London.

Over the next century, they had some ups and downs. They were one of the first bookies to open betting shops after the UK government authorized them in the 1961 Betting and Gaming Act. They continued to expand from there and in the 21st century have become an international betting leader. In July 2015, the Gala Coral Group and Ladbrokes announced a merger. The deal, once completed, will make Ladbrokes and Coral easily Britain’s largest bookmaker. The company will operate at least 4,000 betting shops in the UK and Ireland alone.

Ladbrokes operates in many countries throughout the world. In February 2016, they pulled out of dozens of grey markets. Most notably, they do not accept residents of the United States, Denmark, France, Italy, and Switzerland. In addition to traditional sports betting, Ladbrokes has a betting exchange, similar to Betfair. They also offer an online casino, poker, and lottery options.

A Personal Opinion on Ladbrokes Sportsbook

What We Like About Ladbrokes

Their reputation and longevity are second to none when it comes to online betting markets. They may not have the elite odds that some others offer, but Ladbrokes is as good as it gets when it comes to getting a fair shake and knowing you will be paid quickly.

They have plenty of features, promotions, and an abundance of markets. The “Cash Out” option is available for a number of markets, allowing punters to cash in their bet for a fixed amount while the event is in play. They also plenty of promotions, including, price boosts, money back in certain markets, and double odds on football.

Ladbrokes probably has more deposit and withdrawal options than any other bookmaker online. There is an extensive list of choices for just about every payment method. Their processing speeds are among for fastest for all methods.

What We Don’t Like About Ladbrokes

It’s quite simple. Their odds just aren’t that great anymore. Other top bookmakers offer much better margins on smaller market sports, but they still edge out Ladbrokes when it comes to high-profile markets, such as football. Their odds aren’t bad for football, but for just about everything, we recommend shopping around.

Their betting software needs to be overhauled. It seems that Ladbrokes is still heavily focused on their land-based offerings or just haven’t bothered to upgrade their interface. It functions perfectly, but is slower than other sites and not nearly as user-friendly as other top bookmakers.

Complaints about the software and support seem to be getting more and more common online. Users complain that representatives are not nearly as professional as they used to be and getting answers out of support getting tougher. It’s tough to know for sure until you have an issue with your bookmaker how they may react, but this is not a good sign for Ladbrokes.

Ladbrokes provides players with a free bet of up to £50 on their first deposit and wager. All that players have to do is head over to Ladbrokes.com and make sure they enter the latest promo code for the offer. To be eligible for the bonus, players must have a new account at Ladbrokes sports betting. They cannot previously have created an account under casino, poker, or any other option.

The free bet is only eligible for users who use Pounds or Euros. Deposits also can’t be made using Skrill, Neteller, and PaySafe. The £50 free bet is probably the biggest of any of the top British bookmakers. Fortunately for punters, this isn’t the only promotion they offer.

Lots of Promotions

Promotions at Ladbrokes are frequently updated. They are mostly centered on popular British and Irish markets, but occasionally there are promotions for smaller markets and North American sports.

Their most common promo is the daily price boosts. These are updated daily and are generally focused on high profile matches or events. These genuinely do add value to players and can save them some funds. For horse and greyhound bettors, Ladbrokes has a best odds guaranteed. Customers can take the price for a win or each way single, and if the return is greater, they will pay out at the bigger price.

Cash Out Promo

Cash Out gives users the chance to lock in return on a wager before the match or event finishes. This feature at many other bookmakers but is still not a “can’t miss” option across the industry. Ladbroke’s cash out promotion isn’t available for all markets but is at one’s disposal for a variety of football, cricket, and snooker markets. These markets are also where Ladbrokes provides some of their best prices.

Ladbrokes Exchange

The bookmaker is one of the few to offer a betting exchange in addition to their online sportsbook offerings. Ladbrokes doesn’t have the volume that larger exchanges like BetFair or Matchbook offer, but they do appear to be growing. Like other exchanges, Ladbrokes takes a commission of all winning wagers. Users do not pay any commission on losing bets. However, they do charge a commission on all winning bets, which starts at 5% but can be dropped down to 2%, depending on your wagering happens.

The exchange offers odds on both pre-match and in-play markets. It will work for any punter who is betting smaller stakes. These bets should have no issue being matched, regardless of your chosen market. For higher stakes gamblers, there may be issues with your bets being matched on less popular events, such as North American sports or less popular European markets. If you’re heavily into exchange betting and wagering large amounts, we suggest Betfair.

Ladbrokes Review Highlights

Boring, But Functional Interface

Ladbrokes offers odds in three formats, including fractional odds (UK odds), decimal (European), and moneyline odds (American). Their betting interface, in terms of functionality, is excellent, but the layout leaves a lot to be desired.

The homepage itself is a bit overwhelming. It’s as if the Ladbrokes’ team has decided they need to cram every promotion and available market onto their main page. There is simply too much going on at once. Don’t get us wrong, Ladbrokes’ betting software isn’t weak. It’s the middle of the road product, with a rather boring but jammed packed interface. We just expected more from perhaps the world’s most famous bookmaker.

Expansive Betting Markets

Ladbrokes doesn’t fail punters when it comes to betting markets. They may not have as many markets as other big sportsbooks, but they offer just as many sports and come mighty close to matching or beating them on certain sports. Ladbrokes’ odds, not so shockingly, are some of the best around for horse racing and greyhounds. This extends beyond British borders as well. They are probably the best bookmaker for pricing n American racing.

Their primary markets are competitive, but not elite. Odds for football and other high-profile sports are strong, particularly if bettors shop odds in the exchange. However, when it comes to smaller market sports, we have to rate Ladbrokes as one of the worst bookmakers around.

In-play betting is probably Ladbroke’s best attribute. The number of markets they offer for each sport is impressive and is much more than most betting sites. There is a whole host of props for each event to go along with traditional markets. High profile matches may have several dozen betting markets.

As of May 2016, they have odds on American football, Aussie Rules, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, cricket, cycling, darts, e-sports, football, futsal, GAA, golf, greyhounds, handball, horse racing, ice hockey, mixed martial arts, motor racing, Olympics, poker, rugby, tennis, and volleyball.

It is worth mentioning that we wouldn’t touch most of their sports at Ladbrokes, their margins are just way too high. For instance, they have a hold over 10% on basketball markets. Tennis and hockey aren’t much better at just over 7%. One of the more emerging markets at Ladbrokes is for American sports. Their profit margins on both baseball and American football are under 4%. They also have plenty of markets on political events, such as elections or gossip. This extends to reality television, award shows, and more non-sport markets.

Maximum Payouts

Wagering limits are quite large at Ladbrokes. For their most major markets, the maximum payout is £1 million. Before we jump into sports betting, it’s worth going their horse and greyhound payouts, as that is a significant portion of their handle. Any horse racing in Great Britain and Ireland has a maximum payout of up to £1 million. Greyhounds are capped at £500k.

Top flight leagues, including the English Premiership, Champions League, and the rest of the first division all have a max win of £1 million. This drops down to £500k for leagues like the Australian A League, Dutch Eredvisie, and many others. Other football competitions top out at £250k or £100k.

No other markets come close to £1 million in maximum payout, but most other sports have a max of £500k on major markets. This includes tennis, cricket, golf, MLS soccer, rugby, and all four major American sports leagues, the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. As far as main markets, just about everything else is £100k, including political markets. Propositions and non-traditional markets will be lower limits than sides, totals, and moneylines, but these are sports specific.

Ladbrokes Sportsbook Support

0800 731 6191

support@ladbrokes.com

Ladbrokes.com is available in English, French, Swedish, and German. They also have a support team that is fluent in 20 different languages. Support is available 24/7, 365 days a year through phone, email, live chat, and through Ladbrokes’ Twitter account.

As stated above, feedback from support has been mixed. It’s tough to tell if this is an area of concern with Ladbrokes or it’s a few disgruntled punters upset isolated incidents or a bad beat. However, there have been enough complaints that it is worth noting here.

Ladbrokes Betting Site – Deposits and Elite Withdrawals

A

Payment
Processing Grade

Before moving onto their options for depositing online, Ladbrokes allows customers to deposit and withdraw at their shops. They can simply go to any location with their customer ID and deposit. Withdrawals are also available up to £5,000 instantly at betting shops.

Ladbrokes list of currencies and methods is perhaps the largest online. They accept Pounds, Euros, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars, Japanese Yen, New Zealand Dollars, and Norwegian Krone. All deposits and withdrawals at Ladbrokes, regardless of your chosen currency and country of origin are free of charge.

Ladbrokes has around two dozen different cashier methods. All major debit and credit cards are available for deposit, including Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, and Maestro. Other methods include Entropay, Ukash, check, bank transfer, or Western Union. Credit and debit cards are typically the most utilized method, although, e-wallets are close. They fully support Neteller, Skrill, and PayPal.

Withdrawals via bank transfer and back to debit and credit cards take about 3-5 business days. Due to banking regulations, Ladbrokes processes these transactions much faster than most sites. Their speeds, overall, are fantastic. E-wallet withdrawal requests typically take just a few hours to process.

Ladbrokes Review Summary – False Sense of Loyalty

Many punters have been betting with Ladbrokes since their youth. They’re easily one of the most trusted bookmakers of all time, not just in the markets they operate. However, their odds are lagging behind their reputation. They have a nice variety, including their exchange and a large number of markets, but their odds are middle of the road, at best.

For high profile markets, they may have the best price, but for everything else, they’re inferior. We’re not saying to avoid Ladbrokes, but if you’re depositing at just one bookmaker – they would easily be out of the running. Nevertheless, their odds on football are still decent, and they do have a £50 free bet offer. Make an account and claim the bonus, but don’t expect to be blown away.

Ladbrokes is one of the familiar high street names from British betting history. They have also long been great supporters of British sport through their sponsorships. Because of their experience and strong brand name, they are a major force online as well, as you would expect. They started all the way back in the 18th Century, that’s how long that they have been going.

That’s a rich history for them and their founder Harry Ogden is recognised at the UK’s first professional bookmaker. The actual Ladbrokes brand was formed in 1902 and comes from racing stables Ladbroke Hall in Worcestershire. They went online in 2000 and we are going to get right up to date with a current Ladbrokes Review.

Betting markets and odds quality 9/10

Ladbrokes are strong in odds because they have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in trading and you would expect nothing less really. Their sportsbook is great and will fulfil the needs of both casual and more hardened punters alike. You get great North American sports coverage along with everything from Aussies Rules to Chess, Golf, MMA and Volleyball and just about everything in between.

They offer an extensive range of horse racing as you would expect as they have long been big supporters of UK racing. Racing is a big feature and a big staple of the experience at Ladbrokes. That’s understandable, they have a strong history of supporting racing in the UK. The layout of their horse racing section in the sportsbook is well done because it is just basically as simple as it can get. We appreciated the simplicity in our review of Ladbrokes.

You get to enjoy the little touches like the verdict and Spotlight form when you click on a race as well as the market fluctuations. It’s nothing which is glitz and glamour at all, it is simply a good simple horse racing betting platform. It is part of a very big sportsbook that Ladbrokes offer. You have a big sportsbook to get lost in, well, fortunately, the navigation in the sportsbook has been done so well that you won’t get lost as it’s easy to get around.

Along with horse racing, the sport that is pushed the most is football, which is understandable as well. These are the bread and butter of a bookmaker’s operations. They have a wonderfully extensive football service available and it’s really easy to sort through the matches for the day, the following day or future matches. You find that when you look at a match, even a match we looked at from the Australian A-League for example, it had 175 bets available.

Most of them were available for cash out as well. That is a feature which is prevalent throughout the sportsbook and ranked highly in our Ladbrokes betting review. Also nicely displayed in a football match that you have selected is any price boost that they are currently running for that match. That’s to ensure that you don’t miss out. You can glance at the markets available by categories such as team goals, goalscorers and other markets. There’s really no point trying to navigate the huge football section. Just go to the dedicated section. We were impressed when we did the research for our Ladbrokes bookmakers review.

There are other great features in the sportsbook such as Daily Price Boosts that be quickly accessed which is a nice touch. As for odds, they are right up and they deliver a healthy amount of enhanced odds deals as well to keep punters coming back for more. You have a 6.1% bookmaker margin on soccer and overall across their sportsbook, it is about 4.9 which is pretty solid in comparison to others out there.

Because Ladbrokes is such an established name in betting you would expect a big, bold and well-rounded service from them and that is just what you get as well. They have virtual sports to keep you going as well and there is just so much variety in the sports book from the likes of Futsal, Volleyball, MMA and so much more. They are great for novelty markets like Politics, Movies, TV and awards. They really excel in their sportsbook offerings there.

The Ladbrokes Exchange

Running concurrently alongside their sportsbooks, Ladbrokes also have a betting exchange. You can find the link for it right in the main top menu on their website. What we enjoyed about the Ladbrokes Exchange when we tested them for our bookmaker review is just how clean and inviting it looks.  What Ladbrokes have managed to do is take out any intimidation that punters may have about getting into exchange betting.

It is very clean with its layout. When you land on the Exchange home page then you get to see some of the current markets, and they are largely horse racing and football-focused. There is pretty good coverage of different sports in the Ladbrokes Exchange, perhaps not as extensive as it could be, but it will tick a lot of boxes.

There is live racing and greyhounds to look at, plus a decided live in-play section on the exchange, we felt operated quickly. You either take a Back or Lay bet there and of course, you can set your own odds and try to create your Green Book situations. It is a fast exchange betting platform, not many bells and whistles, but a very solid platform.

As with any betting exchange, you pay your commission on winning bets. The base is 5% commission at Ladbrokes, however, the more you bet, the lower the rate will get because it operates on a layered commission structure. It could come all the way down to 2% based on the volume of bets that you have made.

The Ladbrokes Bet £5 Get £20 is one of the most recognisable sign up offers among online bookmakers and it sticks around because it is so good. All that you have to do is sign up for an account with them and use the promo code 20FREE Place a qualifying bet of at least £5 win or £5 each-way at odds totalling 1/2 or greater. New Customer Offer, T&C’s Apply, 18+. Please Gamble Responsibly. See details directly at Ladbrokes.

In-play betting 8/10

Ladbrokes have a wonderful in-play service available for their customers and there is a link on the main menu to bring up all of the current events that are available for live in-play. This also ties into another of their big features which is live streaming. If an event is available for live streaming then you will see the icon right there to access it.

There are viewing restrictions with viewing streams so read up full on it. A general rule of thumb is in order to watch streams you must have placed a bet in the last 24 hours or have funds in your account. Coverage starts a few minutes before the event. Geographical location is another factor.

When we looked at their in-play services four our Ladbrokes review, we found plenty of football going on, along with tennis matches, basketball matches, volleyball matches, a golf event and even Esports which were all currently through live in-play action. More sports than that are well covered though the feature like rugby and cricket. It just depends what is going on at the time of course.

The market variety in terms of betting options for a live event was great. We looked at a football match from Mexico and there were fifteen markets open, while an obscure tennis match had 50 markets available. Again, a lot of these were available for Cash Out option as well to keep you in control as the action was rolling along.

Extras & features 9/10

Because they are pretty synonymous with horse racing, their Best Odds Guaranteed Plus is a great feature. If an SP returns a greater price than the one you have taken, then they will not only pay you out at the bigger SP but they will boost the price further up. For example, if you took a selection at 3/1 but the SP was 7/2, you would be boosted up to 4/1. Whenever that applies to a race, it is a good thing to have with you. They offer live streaming on all UK & Irish racing.

Ladbrokes also do run a cash out feature which means that you are able to get a return on your bet before a match even finishes. This is tremendous to try and consolidate your bets or lower your risk. The Ladbrokes cash out feature covers plenty of sports like football, cricket and snooker and this also applies on live markets and accumulators as well.

As a Ladbrokes customer, you also get great access to live to streams across a wide range of sports including racing. Clicking on live streaming will show you the current live action and you can filter through it if there is a lot going on, by simply selecting a tab at the top of the page. On that main page, you will also see how many live in play markets there are on a given event.

The biggest extra feature that you can find at Ladbrokes is the option to switch over to their Exchange service. This is their peer to peer betting format which offers a whole new range of markets and odds because you are betting against other punters. There is good help available to aid you over in their exchange section where you get to back and lay market options. It is rare that you find this dual feature with an operator and takes a strong mention in our Ladbrokes bookie review.

Ladbrokes run a lot of football promotions that are specific to certain games, so it’s worth looking at the promotions page frequently. They also have a #GetAPrice feature where you can ask them to price up a wager of your creation. You chose from selections like a match outcome, a goalscorer, a player making assists, both teams to score, a player to be carded, a player to have a certain amount of shots and mix and match options to create your own wager. It is a highly popular feature that gives punters some fun control. You can see creations created by other players which the bookmaker has already matched up when you look at a game.

Another of their top features is Edit My Acca. Edit My Acca, allows you to remove selections from your accumulator AFTER you have placed your bet – and even AFTER your selected events have started! Once you have played with and revised your bet, you will see the new potential return amount. But having the ability to remove a selection which looks like it is heading on the right path to failure is a cool touch.

Ladbrokes payment options - deposit and withdrawal methods 9/10

The major funding and withdrawal options are available to you as a Ladbrokes customer. You can use major credit and debit cards or online payment services like Paypal, Neteller and Skrill. There will be different limits and processing times (along with fees) for the different methods that you have with you. User-friendliness of website & mobile app / mobile version 9/10

Ladbrokes have been through some ups and down, but they really look rejuvenated at the moment. That’s what we found in our Ladbrokes review. The website design that they have is spot on. It’s very nice, clean and functional and very fluid whether you are on their website, their app or just on their mobile version. All the investments and changes that they have done seem to be paying off.

The layout of their sportsbook tremendous and the clarity in odds presentation and the betting slip is highly regarded. There will be some punters who may find the general layout of the Ladbrokes website a little bit crowded. It is on the busier side of things without question, but it doesn’t hinder the operation of the website.

That is the important thing. The collapsible menus are a nice touch because it keeps that out of the way and the prices are easy to read. There are buttons and links around which can help you filter big pages into manageable bite-size chunks. It is functional.

Ladbrokes have a mobile version of their website as well as Ladbrokes Sports Betting App in the Apple Store and on Google Play Store. There is a dedicated Ladbrokes Exchange App as well. They do have a dedicated Windows Phone app as well.

For our Ladbrokes app review, those we tested operated very quickly and offered easy access to the extensive sportsbook. The #GetAPrice feature has been given its own tab so that you can access that quickly. You have a big in-play section as well on the website, with the plethora of options available there with the quick and easy operation and access.

You will find their promotions and specials on the mobile platforms as well so you are not going to be missing out on value. You can also grab your live streams through the app as well, again restrictions will apply. It is one of our most highly recommended mobile platforms just because of the sheer wealth of stuff on there.

Ladbrokes Customer Service & Support, Security & Reliability 8/10

Regular help channels apply at Ladbrokes. The quickest way is to open a chat console right there on the website and get direct access to a representative, but the more comfortable way for many may be to pick up the phone. You get around the clock access to Ladbrokes customer service and dip into their help section as well. Ladbrokes have Verisign and SSL encryption on their site.

Our Ladbrokes review rating: 9 / 10

They are one of the most famous names in British betting and they deliver a top quality online betting experience. It’s hasn’t been plain sailing for them along the way, but they really have their act together at the moment and deliver an overall service that the major of punters will enjoy and stick around at.

There is a lot of trading value on there for punters to get their teeth into and you get a hugely trusted and recognisable brand. You get a wealth of promotions and extra, a betting exchange if you want to explore that side of peer to peer betting and wonderful mobile platforms. In summary of our review of Ladbrokes, they offer one of the strongest packages out there.

Introduction

The following is an in-depth review of the betting agency Ladbrokes. This review covers the history, features, interface, sports & racing markets, upsides and downsides of the service.

This review is part of our comprehensive Bookmaker Reviews section. The Betting Agencies page provides information and reviews for other sports betting agencies that are suitable for Australians. The following details are updated periodically to keep them up to date.

History, Location and Licence

Launched in September 2013, Ladbrokes.com.au is the Australian arm of the UK gaming giant Ladbrokes plc., whose origins date back to 1886. The company employs over 15,000 people across the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Spain and Australia. They also have a physical presence in Europe, with over 2,800 retail-betting shops. Ladbrokes.com.au is one of thirteen tailored betting websites operated by the parent company. Ladrbokes plc is publically listed and trades on the London Stock Exchange.

As a means of entering Australia, Ladbrokes purchased Bookmaker.com.au, a Brisbane-based bookmaker that was itself launched in February 2012. Bookmaker.com.au and Ladbrokes.com.au operate using identical markets and odds. The only differences are the template designs and sign up promotions. Both services are licensed and regulated in the Northern Territory.

One key point of difference between Ladbrokes and its numerous competitors is that Ladbrokes customers can opt in to receive a Ladbrokes EFTPOS Card. The card is linked to the member’s betting account with winnings available to be withdrawn from an ATM somewhere between 20 and 40 seconds after a bet has been concluded. Customers can use the debit card to withdraw up to $1,000 cash per day from ATMs or complete EFTPOS transactions of up to $2,500 a day. One caveat is that to prevent money laundering, customers can only withdraw winnings. You can’t transfer money into your betting account and then withdraw those funds straight away.

In April 2019 parent company Ladbrokes changed its name from Ladbrokes Digital Australia Pty Ltd to GVC Australia Pty Ltd with ABN 25 151 956 768.

Services and Features

Betting Interface and Website Layout

Ladbrokes uses the same interface as Bookmaker.com.au, which is one of the best we’ve reviewed. The website loads quickly and the numerous dynamic features make betting quick and easy.

Users of other agencies will find the interface intuitive. On the left is a sports navigation panel with the number of active markets displayed to the right of each sport. Quick links are provided at the top of the left panel. These provide convenient access to the most popular markets.

The markets and odds displays are intuitive. When you select a sport (i.e. soccer), the primary sub markets (i.e. various European leagues) are displayed in the left column, with a full list of sub markets (leagues and fixtures) displayed in the main column. When you select a specific fixture the odds are displayed in the main column with related sub categories displayed in the left column. This enables rapid navigation around the sporting markets.

The service boasts the provision of ‘Quickbet’, which is a ‘betslip-skipping’ feature that enables punters to swiftly bet a pre-configured amount with just three mouse clicks. Even without Quickbet pre-configured, whenever you click on the odds for a selection you have the option of instantly placing a wager or adding the selection to your betting slip. Quickbets can be made without clearing existing items in your betting slip.

The betting slip itself is feature-packed and dynamically displayed at the top of the screen when a selection is added. You can minimise and maximise the betting slip while browsing other markets. When entering a wager amount, you can either input a stake amount or input the amount you aim to win, with the stake amount automatically calculated. Where applicable, multi bet options are displayed at the bottom of the slip, featuring every combination of the selections in your slip.

One really nice feature of the interface is that for any selections with promotions attached, those promotions are displayed both alongside the odds and on the betting slip.

Overall, it’s hard to find fault with the betting interface. The same goes for the account area and dashboard. The website has a very polished, professional look about it.

Sports Markets

The Ladbrokes sports betting selection is identical to Bookmaker.com.au. The depth of markets for the popular Australian sports is on par with the largest Australian bookmakers. In 2013 we observed up to 24 markets per Super Rugby fixture, up to 47 markets per NRL fixture and up to 142 markets per AFL fixture. The popular American codes are catered for, although not with the same depth of markets as the Australian codes. As seems to be the case with all bookmakers, football (soccer) is heavily covered, featuring numerous leagues around the globe. Tennis is also well catered for. A good selection of other sports, including cycling, golf, snooker, surfing, boxing and motor racing are also covered.

The selection is strong enough that Ladbrokes is suitable as a stand-alone bookmaker membership for casual punters.

Horse Racing

Ladbrokes offers a range of markets including best tote, top fluctuation and fixed price on all racing markets including thoroughbreds, harness and greyhounds.

Win, Place, Each Way, Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta, Quadrella and First Four wagers are available on most race days.

The interface is intuitive and looks great. Race betting beginners will appreciate the website’s ease of use. One nice feature is that when you select a racecourse all upcoming races at that venue are displayed in the left column, with the time to run dynamically updated without the need for page reloads.

One interesting feature is a ‘Pick Your Own Odds’ option where you can choose a winning margin for the runner with the odds updated dynamically to reflect your selection. This enables you to opt for more risk by selecting a winning margin between 1/2 a length and 6+ lengths. The options are offered in 1/4 length increments.

Form guides are available for each race and racing wagers can be combined with sports wagers on the same betting slip.

Odds Boost

In 2016 Ladbrokes added an Odds Boost feature for racing, which enables you to boost the fixed odds of a particular racing selection once a day. You can apply the boost to any runner of your choosing.

To apply the boost, add the selection to your betting slip and click on the Odds Boost icon below your selection.

The size of the boost depends on the fixed odds. From what we’ve observed, the higher the odds the higher the boost as a percentage of the original odds. Some examples are:

1.60 boosted to 1.85 (16% increase)
6.00 boosted to 7.50 (25% increase)
10.00 boosted to 13.00 (30% increase)
101.00 boosted to 151.00 (50% increase)

Live Sports Betting

Due to Australia’s Interactive Gambling Act 1, live online betting is not available. Australian customers must phone in to bet live.

Ladbrokes does offer a QuickCall feature, which enables you to place live wagers using your computer’s microphone. Ladbrokes doesn’t record audio from your end. Instead the website digitally synthesizes your voice to place a live bet on your behalf.

Upsides

  • Good selection of deposit options, including POLi 2 and Paypal
  • Excellent betting promotions – arguably the best of any bookmaker
  • Easy sign up and verification process
  • Slick betting interface
  • Low $0.50 minimum online bet
  • Can split bonus credit into up to four bets
  • Good multi betting functionality
  • Members can opt in to receive a Ladbrokes prepaid VISA Card that is linked to their betting account
  • Innovative QuickCall feature for fast live betting
  • You can receive an Odds Boost for a racing selection of your choice once a day

Downsides

  • No live online betting (due to Australian law) 1
  • Dormant account fees
  • Higher than average bookmaker margins

Bottom Line

Ladbrokes represents the latest expansion of a UK betting giant into Australia. Rather than start from scratch, they have purchased Bookmaker.com.au and created the Australian Ladbrokes service using the same markets, odds and website back end. When it came to choosing an Australian bookmaker to amalgamate, they chose well. The website interface is state of the art, with excellent betting functionality and a well-designed account management area. The betting selection is strong, with an especially large range of markets for the popular Australian codes. We also like the fact that bonus credit can be split up into multiple wagers rather than forcefully wagered in one hit. Ladbrokes will pose yet more headaches for existing Australian bookmakers in what is becoming a very competitive space.

Editors Note:

Ladbrokes have one of the biggest names in UK bookmaking and in this review we’ll take a look at why they’ve been a success for so long and how they compare to other online bookmakers.

Like most seasoned punters, I’ve held a Ladbrokes betting account for a number of years. I’ve used both their betting shops and online site on too many occasions to count and am happy to report I’ve never had a problem getting paid out on winning bets or keeping money on the site.

As a company they are constantly improving their app and site ad the most recent version of both platforms is as good as any competing bookies.

Ladbrokes are strong when it comes to long term value, thanks to their regular promotions, and new customers can bag a bet £5 get £20 in free bets bonus if they sign up.

Rock solid reputation built over decades

18+ New UK+IRE customers. Paypal and certain deposit types and bet types excluded. Min £5 bet within 14 days of account reg at min odds 1/2 = 4 x £5 free bets. Free bets valid for 7 days on sports, stake not returned, restrictions apply. T&Cs apply.

Licensing & Safety

Flawless reputation

How safe is Ladbrokes?

10|10

  • UKGC license
  • Gibraltar Commissioner license
  • Founded in 1886
  • 100% secure & safe

Ladbrokes is regulated and licensed by the Licensing Authority of Gibraltar, under the Gambling Act 2005 and by the UK Gambling Commission. The licenses granted to the company are numbers 010, 012 and 044, although these also cover the other gambling enterprises run by Ladbrokes, such as their online casino as well.

The rules set down in their licensing agreements mean that Ladbrokes must:

  • Ensure that anyone suffering from problems relating to gambling through the use of their site is given proper guidance and help.
  • Ensure that all patrons of the site are treated fairly and that their service is transparent.
  • Make sure that anyone under the legal age to gamble is unable to use the site.

In 2016 Ladbrokes merged with Coral to form the Ladbrokes Coral Group which was then bought out by GVC Holdings. GVC are a publicly traded company, with thousands of employees and millions in revenue each year. Bottom line here… Ladbrokes are solid financially meaning punters funds and payouts are not at risk on the platform.

What sports are offered?

8|10

  • 35+ sports offered
  • Multiple bets per event
  • Live betting service
  • Live streaming

Aside from William Hill, you are unlikely to encounter a better known bookmakers throughout the United Kingdom than Ladbrokes, as they have been trading on High Streets throughout the country for many years – over 25 in fact. Their experience in the field has allowed them to build up an impressive number of different sport markets for customers to bet on, those available online are:

  • Aussie Rules
  • Badminton
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Esports
  • F1
  • Football
  • Futsal
  • GAA Football
  • GAA Hurling
  • Golf
  • Greyhounds
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Ice Hockey
  • Motor Cycling
  • Motor Sports
  • Movies
  • Music
  • Netball
  • NFL
  • Politics
  • Rugby
  • Snooker
  • Specials
  • Speedway
  • Tennis
  • TV / Entertainment
  • UFC/MMA
  • Virtual Sports
  • Volleyball

As can be seen, the selection of markets provided by Ladbrokes is second to none, as they have all of the major sports, plus a huge amount of lesser known ones as well. For those looking to bet on things other than sport, they also offer markets for politics, television programs – for shows like The X Factor – and many other obscure choices.

In-Play Betting

Betting alongside streaming

Is live betting offered?

9|10

  • In-play betting with streaming
  • Stats, scores & graphics
  • Available on all devices
  • Multiple markets per event

The in-play system offered by Ladbrokes also reviews well, a wide range of events are offered, there are plenty of markets per event and game stats as well as live scores are available to punters. On top of that they’ve also got live streaming across a number of sports including horse racing, football, tennis and cricket.

The live interface is completely intuitive and upon clicking on the tab (found at the top, named ‘In-play & Streaming’), you will be taken to a page that displays all of the major events that are happening at that time. Simply click on one and you will see all of the different odds, game stats and if available the option to stream live. Be quick though if you see a price that you like – the odds are changing constantly as the event ebbs and flows.

When you compare the Ladbrokes in-play betting section to in-play and streaming leaders Bet365 you’ll find very little difference and no shortage of features. However there’s definitely move live streaming at Bet365 and in-play odds are more generous so we’ve marked Laddies down on this.

It’s also a tad annoying that there’s no sorting option for events – it’s better to be able to pin some markets to the top of the screen so you can follow them.

Live Streaming at Ladbrokes…

To access most live streams Ladbrokes are currently showing you need to log into your account and as long as it’s got money in it or has had money in during the last 24 hours you’ll get access.

Horse Racing is the exception here. To watch horse races you’ll need to have a bet on the race. Currently it’s a 50p each way bet or £1 bet on any other market to watch live (note: expect a stream delay of up to 10 seconds).

To find out what events are shown just access the in-play section of the app or website and look out for the TV icon listed next to any market. If you see that then a live stream is available. Geo restrictions apply here so you’ll need to log in to get the correct listings.

Overall Review

Here’s our overall take on things…

Our Verdict of Ladbrokes

A quality option for punters

OUR RATING FOR:

LADBROKES

After conducting our Ladbrokes review we’ve decided to give them a 4 out of 5 star rating. Considering only a 4.5 or 5 are higher it’s a pretty darn good effort from Laddies.

First and foremost you can’t deny their reputation and experience in the gambling industry. They’ve been a major player for many years and have always looked after the punters who wager with them. You can rest assured in the knowledge that your funds are protected at Ladbrokes and that you’ll get paid out on all winning wagers you make. 4.5 star bookmakers are defined in our review section as bookmakers who are quality but have a small issue with their site or reputation.

In terms of reputation, safety and security all boxes are ticked at Ladbrokes but we’re just not happy with the amount and quality of regular promotions they run. The long term value, after the £20 free bet offer, just isn’t there right now and until they ramp it up we’ll had to peg them back a little.

Overall though there’s a wide selection of markets to bet on, a 400% free bet welcome bonus and a rock solid reputation. Ladbrokes are a solid choice and worthy of their 4 star review rating.

18+ New UK+IRE customers. Paypal and certain deposit types and bet types excluded. Min £5 bet within 14 days of account reg at min odds 1/2 = 4 x £5 free bets. Free bets valid for 7 days on sports, stake not returned, restrictions apply. T&Cs apply.
